Course Description:
 
This Course has been approved by the NJ Board of PT Examiners  for 7.5 CEU's

 

Navigating Medicare rules and regulations can be intimidating and confusing. The new G code reporting requirement is the latest rule to confound rehabilitation billing and documentation. This course will focus on the application of functional tests in the determination of the impairment level of a patient when G-codes are in use.  The application and scoring of a series of functional test will be reviewed.  The application of these tests will assist in the determination of the level of functional impairment of an individual.  The application and rational of the use of G-Codes will be reviewed for clinical documentation application.  Case studies will be used to instruct in choice of the proper functional test for particular patients in the physical and occupational therapy out-patient setting. 


At the conclusion of this course the participant will:  

  • Understand the basics of the proper application of a functional test in the clinical setting.
  • Understand the utilization of the G-codes in clinical documentation.
  • Understand the application of the G-codes in the rationale of the continuation of the clinical interaction.
  • Understand the application of the proper scoring of functional tests and the scoring determination of the level of impairment.
