Explore Moon to Mars: An Exploration of Models as STEM Learning tools with the Orion Spacecraft

The NASA Educator Professional Development Collaborative at
Texas State University is providing a 1-hour webinar.

NASA is expanding human exploration by visiting the Moon and then Mars. The new Lunar Exploration program that will land the first woman and the next man on the surface of the moon is called the Artemis Program. To enable educators to engage their students with the Artemis Program, NASA has developed curriculum modules on concepts related to Space Launch System (SLS), Orion, and The Gateway. This webinar will explore how to use models to teach STEM concepts that relate to NASA's Orion Spacecraft. The webinar will also provide a quick walkthrough of other educational resources and opportunities including Digital Badges (micro-credential). Please join us for this free 1-hr webinar!

Deepika is a NASA Education Specialist at Texas State University. She works to support NASA EPDC efforts nationally - both face-to-face and virtually. Deepika has worked in STEM Education in various capacities – as a researcher, educator, outreach coordinator, member of a non-profit startup, and K-8 Educator. She has enjoyed building diverse experiences in STEM education and hopes to add unique value to Educator Profession Development at NASA. Deepika has degrees in Electrical Engineering from University of Mysore, India (Bachelors), University of Maryland, College Park (Maters), and Purdue University (Ph. D.) where she researched how to teach fundamental disciplinary concepts in Electrical Engineering.
