Event Overview

Women's Business Council - Southwest will join forces with fellow Girl Boss leaders from Bumble, Boss Babes ATX, Black Girl Ventures, and certified Women's Business Enterprise, KANTI Goods. During this panel discussion we will have an open conversation about finding resources in the Austin community when you or your business need support. Join us for this new and exciting virtual event!


Bumble joins this panel to share information about their partnerships with Black Girl Ventures and their groundbreaking Bumble Fund. Bumble Fund was launched in 2018 to build a bigger table in the world of businesses for diverse women. Bumble Fund focuses primarily in startups founded and led by women of color and those from underrepresented groups. 

Black Girl Ventures
Black Girl Ventures' mission is to provide Black/Brown woman-identifying founders with access to community, education, and leadership development in order to meet business milestones that lead to economic advancement through entrepreneurship. BGV has supported women at Austin's SXSW event and will be partnering with Bumble's, Bumble Fund, to increase support . 
Boss Babes ATX
Boss Babes ATX joins us as a well-known grassroots nonprofit, that amplifies women and nonbinary creatives, entrepreneurs and leaders. Boss Babes will share about upcoming conferences, festivals, markets, workshops and meet-ups provide support, educational resources and exhibition opportunities.
Kanti Goods
Kanti Goods is a WBENC certified, social mission-driven, and mother-daughter business. Kanti brings fine jewelry and accessories to you from organizations that give opportunities to underprivileged women, small-scale craftsmen, artisans, and entrepreneurs while encouraging local materials and fair production methods. Kanti Goods will speak to the WBENC certification and how WBCS has supported and lifted her women-owned business.

Shelly Bell
Black Girl Ventures
Named as one of Entrepreneur Magazine/s Top 100 Powerful Women in Business, Shelly Bell is a computer scientist, system disruptor and business strategist who moves ideas to profit while empowering people to live to build and foster better relationships. She connects entrepreneurs, investors, and corporations in order to diversify their talent pipeline, increase equity and grow their brands. Shelly is among the nation's most sough-after transformational speakers in the DC Metro area with features in Forbes, Fast Company, The Washington Business Journal, NewsOne, Entrepreneur Magazine, People of COlor in Tech, and on Politico Live. 
Jane Hervey
Founding Director
Boss Babes ATX
Originally from the small town of Rio Hondo, Texas, Jane Hervey (she/her) is a creative director, nonprofit leader, and musician, living and working in Austin, Texas. She is the founding director of Boss Babes ATX and actively designs communication strategies and experiences for other arts and entertainment organizations, nonprofits and creative start-ups. As an artist, since putting out her first four-track EP "Sour Grapefruit" in 2019, she has opened for OSHUN, Nomi Ruiz, Bunny Michael and more. Her work has been profiled in publications like Texas Monthly and Forbes, and in 2017 she was inducted into the City of Austin's Women's Hall of Fame. 
Ernestine Lammers
Ernestine Lammers is an entrepreneur with a passion for helping others, she has traveled the world for her work and with her family and is a true global citizen. After obtaining a degree in education in Nijmegen in the Netherlands, Ernestine spent more than 30 years in the field of education, beginning her career as a kindergarten teacher in an undeserved neighborhood in her home town in The Netherlands. Ernestine is married and a mother of 3 daughters, Ernestine and her family moved to the United States in the early 1990s, where she had the opportunity to use her background in education to start a number of small businesses, including 3 Dutch-language international schools in New Jersey, Texas, and Boston. In 2010 Ernestine Lammers and Coco Lammers founded Kantigoods as a mother-daughter company after they were inspired by beautiful goods made by artisans in India. 
Cybil Zhang
Strategy and Social Impact Associate Director

Cybil Zhang is the Strategy and Social Impact Senior Manager at Bumble. In her role, Cybil connects Bumble users to its mission and values through social impact initiatives, including Bumble Fund, an early stage corporate investing vehicle focused on businesses founded and led by underrepresented women founders. Cybil also generates insights and go-to-market strategies for news borders and improves project management capability across Bumble and its leading major global campaigns, including Bumble's firs Super Bowl commercial. Prior to joining Bumble in November 2018, Cybil was a senior consultant for a global management firm, where she worked cross-functionally to manage clients and develop analytical modes. She additionally co-founded a social enterprise focused on making affordable solar power accessible to low-income households. Cybil holds a Bachelor of Business Administration with a focus in Supply Chain Management from The University of Texas at Austin. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and visiting national parks.
