LaTina Taylor is deeply committed to providing STEM education to students and families in urban communities. Ms. Taylor has over 24 years of experience in education with the Chicago Public Schools and is a National Board Certified Teacher with a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership. LaTina currently serves as one of the district’s STEM Technology Integration Specialists teaching STEM (i.e. robotics, engineering, and technology) classes with students in grades Pre-K through 8th grade and provides professional development to instructional staff members in her home school at Langston Hughes STEM School. During her tenure LaTina has received over $100,000 worth of technology/STEM equipment through various grant awards (i.e. iPad carts, 3D Printers, STEM Equipment/Materials, and LEGO Robotics) for students at the schools she has serviced.
In addition to her teaching duties with Chicago Public Schools LaTina Taylor has for the past 11 years served as Program Director with the Chicago Pre-College Science & Engineering Program (ChiS&E) designing and implementing STEM curriculum, training families on STEM and innovative technology tools, and providing professional development to teachers on effective research-based STEM integration pedagogy into their curriculum, instruction, and assessment. LaTina has also been a presenter at numerous math and technology conferences at the local, state, and national levels. | |
Michelle Berry serves as a NASA STEM Education Specialist at Texas State University. She holds a Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M University and a Master of Education with a Major in Educational Administration from Texas State University. Her most recent experience includes managing and coordinating the NASA MUREP Educator Institutes and the state-wide Mathematics Faculty Collaborative for the Texas College and Career Readiness Initiative (CCRI). Prior to these positions she was a Mentor Teacher in both the Teacher Recruitment Induction Program and Novice Teacher Induction Program at Texas State University. She also has 11 years of teaching experience in kindergarten, 3rd and 4th grades from San Marcos Consolidated ISD and Round Rock ISD. | |
