TAPPI Biorefinery Course

The TAPPI Biorefinery Courseoffered just afterIBBC,will seek to provide the knowledge and tools for forest industry leaders, technology providers and consultants to develop biorefinery strategies and better understand emerging biorefinery technologies and their design/implementation in a business strategy.
 
According to Course leader Paul Stuart, the course emphasizes “how to” content, with presentations addressing biorefinery technology management, competitive evaluation of the bioproducts market, supply chain management, biorefinery deployment, biorefinery start-ups, assessing biorefinery risk, energy integration – and numerous case studies where different processes and techno-economics will be presented.
 
There will be 18 course instructors from across North America and Europe who will share their experience, including numerous case studies. Notable among the list of presenters is Virginie Chambost (EnVertis Consulting), Jim Frederick (Table Mountain Consulting, retired from NREL), Doug Freeman (NewPage), Gopal Goyal (International Paper), Jean Hamel (FPInnovations), Eemeli Hytonen (VTT), Ben Thorp (Bioenergy Deployment Consortium), Per Tomani (Innventia) and Adriaan van Heiningen (University of Maine).
