Health and Safety Update as of 3/16/20
At WBCS, in-person networking is essential to the work we do and to each of your businesses, but we are also committed to taking every precaution to protect your health. With the recent recommendations from the CDC concerning coronavirus (COVID-19), we have made the decision to
postpone Connections to Contracts.

We are actively working to reschedule the welcome reception and this procurement event for later in 2020 and will promptly notify you when we have a new date.

If you have any additional questions, please reach out to Elizabeth Garner at egarner@wbcsouthwest.org.

Event Overview
Connecting women-owned businesses with corporations and government entities, Connections to Contracts
features a grab-and-go breakfast, corporate roundtable procurement discussions, a keynote luncheon, “prime time” sessions led by Sustaining (Corporate) Members and their prime (Tier 1) suppliers, and a closing networking reception.

Watch this video to learn more about the evolution of this event and its inaugural debut last year.

Self-park for $10

Luncheon Seating
With the exception of a few sponsored tables, luncheon seating is open.

The evening before the event, April 13, a discounted room block is available at Texican Court - a relaxed luxury urban hotel across the street from the Irving Convention Center. Our discounted price is $159 plus tax and can be extended two days before and two days after April 13. To reserve a room, click here or call 1-866-842-0100 and let them know you're with the Women's Business Council - Southwest. Our group code is WBC827. The reservation deadline is Tuesday, March 24 at 6:00 pm CST.

Roundtable Discussions

Sponsored by Anderson Asphalt & Concrete Paving, Oncor, and Vistra Energy

How It Works
There are roundtables of 8. One seat is for the corporate member host; the other seats are for WBEs interested in learning about that company’s procurement process. WBE seats are open on a first-come, first-served basis.

Corporate members stay at their table. WBEs rotate and have the opportunity to visit a total of five tables.

Each discussion is 20 minutes followed by a 5 minute rotation.

Prime Time Sessions

Sponsored by BNSF Railway, Lockheed Martin, and PepsiCo

How It Works
Attendees can choose two out of three sessions - one with BNSF Railway, one with Lockheed Martin, and the other with PepsiCo. Each session is 45 minutes and features the corporation and representatives of their prime (Tier 1) suppliers addressing how to become part of their supply chain. Prime suppliers will share upcoming projects and how to bid on them. There will be two rounds of prime time sessions so you can attend two out of three offerings.

Welcome Reception

Sponsored by CAET Project Management Consultants, Jayne Agency, Nokia, Painters USA, Software Professionals, Inc., and Walmart

There is a complimentary come-and go networking reception the evening before the event, April 13, from 4:00 - 6:00 at Texican Court's Two Mules Cantina Restaurant. All are welcome to attend, especially
WBEs and corporations from outside the Dallas Fort Worth metroplex.

Texican Court is located at 501 W. Las Colinas Blvd in Irving.

RSVP Method for the Welcome Reception
  • If you plan to attend the Welcome Reception only (not Connections to Contracts), click here and select the Welcome Reception Only registration option.
  • If you plan to attend both the Welcome Reception and Connections to Contracts, click here to register for Connections to Contracts. Select your membership type and then mark that you plan to attend the Welcome Reception when that option arises.
