Overhead Lifting Safety Webinar Series in September. The Overhead Alliance represents the members of the Crane Manufacturers Association of America, Inc. (CMAA),
the Hoist Manufacturers Institute (HMI) and the
Monorail Manufacturers Association, Inc. (MMA).
The webinar series will include presentations and Q&A from industry experts along with a resource guide for overhead lifting including information and tools for
best overhead lifting practices and downloadable resources from CMAA,
HMI and
MMA.

September 3, 2:00 PM Eastern - Topic: OSHA Crane and Hoists inspections focus + resources from CMAA,
HMI and
MMA
Presenter: Therese Stawowy, Supervisory Safety Specialist - OSHA - Regional Office - Atlanta
This session covers the following questions:

Why can OSHA inspect my cranes?
What is OSHA looking at when inspecting my cranes?
What are your responsibilities?

September 10, 2:00 PM Eastern - Topic: Chain Hoists & Monorail inspection requirements and best practices

In this presentation you will learn the basics of how a chain hoist works & what to look for in a frequent or pre-use inspection, per ASME B30.16. We will also discuss the inspection required to be completed at least once a year, per ASME B30.17, for enclosed monorail tracks. -

We will discuss the requirement for inspecting Overhead Cranes per OSHA 1910.179 and ANSI B30.2. Additionally we will review the findings of our Crane Accident Study which analyzed overhead crane accidents over a 10 year period and the best practices for avoiding a crane incident. -
