This course is intended for CLS that have completed a Blood Bank Basics or Blood Bank Intermediate course. Supervisory personnel are welcome.

    Discrepancies
  • Indeterminate Blood Types
  • Rh Discrepancies
  • Antibody Identification
    • DAT test results
  • Clinically Significant Antibodies
  • Antibody identification
    • DAT neg and DAT positive
  • Proper interpretation of panel and screening cell results

 Case Studies – Urgent Need for Blood
  • MTP & Emergency Release
  • Antibody identification
    • DAT positive samples
  • Antibody ID panel exercises and case studies
  • Cold / Warm / Interfering substance
Case Studies – Blood Shortage / Rare Blood
  • Determining how to move forward
  • Selecting appropriate donor units
  • Delay or transfuse – What to do?
