David A. Schirmer Vice President and General Manager
Hearst Enterprises
As Vice President and General Manager of Hearst Enterprises, Dave Schirmer is responsible
for paper procurement for divisions of The Hearst Corporation including Hearst Magazines
and Hearst Newspapers. He is one
of two principles in Newsprint Purchasing LLC - a company formed by Hearst
Newspapers and Advance Newspapers which is responsible for paper procurement
for Advance and Hearst owned newspapers as well as Parade Magazine and Hearst's
directory businesses.
Prior to joining Hearst in September 2004 he held various executive positions with Abitibi Consolidated and predecessor companies where he worked for 27 years. He has a BA in Economics from Trinity College in Hartford and in 1987 attended Harvard University's PMD Executive Management program. He resides in Darien, Conn. with his wife Valerie and their three children.
