Dr. Jinger Gottschall My primary research objective is to complete studies with a focus on physical fitness in adults for the preservation of independence and prevention of disease. The goal of these projects is to evaluate which exercise routines are optimal in terms of health benefits as well as participant retention.
My secondary research objective is to perform mechanistic research regarding how humans effortlessly transition between complex scenarios in the natural environment in order to promote functional mobility. It is critical that data are obtained to help characterize the strategies that mediate gait transitions for populations that have difficulty walking on a daily basis.

Craig Horswill Craig is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Kinesiology and Nutrition at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC) where he teaches and oversees research by students. Craig joined the UIC faculty in 2011 after working for 16 years in industry as a scientist and manager with The Gatorade Company (Gatorade Sports Science Institute). Craig also spent eight years conducting research in pediatrics at Columbus Children’s Hospital and The Ohio State University (1988-1994), and teaching and conducting research in the Human Performance Lab at Ball State University (1986-88). Craig earned a PhD in exercise physiology from the University of Illinois Urbana Champaign in 1986. Derrick Price MS, CPT, PES, CES Aside from training at award-winning Function First in San Diego, Calif., Derrick Price MS, CPT, PES, CES, also serves as a master trainer for ViPR, PowerPlate, Core-Tex™, Technogym, Hyperwear and the Institute of Motion. With specialties in three-dimensional movement, corrective exercise and athletic performance enhancement, Derrick has served as both a master instructor for the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM) and as an adjunct professor at the California University of Pennsylvania. Now a faculty member for PTA Global, Derrick holds a master’s degree in exercise science and health promotion with an emphasis on injury prevention and performance enhancement from California University of Pennsylvania. He currently resides with his wife Laura in San Diego, where they enjoy many outdoor activities including hiking, trail-running, disc golf and a variety of other sports. | |

Justin Price is a biomechanics specialist and expert in corrective exercise techniques with more than 20 years of experience helping people overcome chronic aches and pains. Steven Renata Steven was born in Kawakawa, New Zealand. After beginning his career in tourism he entered the fitness industry, which would become his calling. He has been a partner in Les Mills International Ltd since 1995, holding a variety of senior international roles including Training, Sales, Board Member and now CEO of Les Mills West Coast. “I am really excited to take on this role, and feel very fortunate to be championing group exercise in the United States at a time when group exercise and small group training is at the tipping point of a huge expansion,” said Renata.

Keli Roberts Keli Roberts has won several awards during her time in the fitness industry, including the 2003 IDEA International Fitness Instructor of the Year, 2003 OBOW ECA award for Best Use of Equipment, 2005 Best Female Presenter and the 2008 Lifetime Achievement Award. Jenn Seifert Jenn is responsible for the delivery of services to Les Mills West Coast GRIT customer facilities and instructors. She started with Les Mills Midwest in 2008 as a club coach. In her time at Les Mills, Jenn has helped facilities establish the Les Mills group fitness formulas to retain and obtain members successfully. Jenn also teaches BODYPUMP®, BODYFLOW®, RPM®, and BODYVIVE® at her local YMCA association. Jenn shifted her speciality to personal training and group fitness by becoming a national trainer for the YMCA utilizing her speech and communications degree.

Anthony J. Wall As ACE director of professional education, Anthony J. Wall oversees the development, quality assurance and strategic focus of the organization’s continuing education programs. With more than 15 years of experience in the industry, he has created internationally-recognized training programs and high-caliber educational materials for several academic and government organizations. Prior to joining ACE, Anthony was the national personal training manager for Les Mills in New Zealand. There, he created and directed education programs, and managed training practices and policies organization-wide. Anthony has also managed fitness club operations, and assisted in the promotion of sports and fitness events. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Demontfort University in Bedfordshire, England, and a master’s degree in exercise physiology from San Diego State University in California. An avid sprinter, Anthony lives in Poway, Calif., with his wife and two daughters. | |
Ken Weichert Ken Weichert, also known as “SGT Ken,” is an international speaker, six-time U.S. Army Soldier of the Year, master fitness and resilience trainer, counterintelligence agent and highly decorated combat veteran. In addition to his work as founder of START Fitness®, a group exercise and hiking program that delivers military-style workouts to soldiers and civilians, Ken has trained more than 500,000 people. He has written over 100 articles for GX®, Backpacker®, Outside® and Health®, and he created the wellness section of the National Guard website. His personal mission to provide safe and effective fitness training that inspires people to turn stress into strength, has led to his recognition as the 2011 Best New Presenter of the Year by Canadian Fitness Professionals. | |
Keith Wheeler Keith is divisional director Global Performance Nutrition, Research, Development, & Scientific Affairs for Abbott Nutrition. His educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in life science from Otterbein College, Westerville, Ohio. He earned both a Master of Science and a Ph.D. in Nutritional Biochemistry from The Ohio State University. Keith is a Fellow in the American College of Sports Medicine and a member of The American Society for Nutrition. He also currently serves on the Board of Directors for the National Alliance for Youth Sports. He is a frequent speaker on sports nutrition and clinical nutrition to health professionals. He has more than 25 publications to his credit in the areas of clinical nutrition and nutrition as it relates to athletic performance.
