Teen Fitness Workshop

(ACE 0.8 CECs)

In addition to budgetary cuts that have prompted the elimination of recess in many schools, the obesity rate among children aged 12-19 has soared to 18% over the past 30 years. Help those adolescents – and others who engage in only moderate physical activity – develop a love for exercise by engaging them with fun activity. In this 1-day workshop, you’ll explore appropriate phases of progression for teens, considerations for males and females, and how to design effective programs that promote health and long-term success.

You will learn:

  • How to engage teenagers to improve their health by becoming more physically active
  • To create physical activity programs for teens to improve aerobic conditioning, muscular strength and flexibility
  • Fitness games that incorporate elements of fun while providing exercise benefits
  • Strategies for helping teens establish a positive relationship with exercise
Cost for participation is $159.
