IGUA has cancelled its May 2020 Spring Seminar as a result of COVID-19.  After carefully considering the health and well-being of our members, delegates, speakers and  the ongoing uncertainty around the disease, we have decided NOT to re-schedule the seminar for the fall.   We will look after cancelling all room reservations made by delegates and sponsors at the hotel.

Thank you for supporting IGUA; we look forward to hosting you at the 2021 Spring Seminar- details to come shortly. Special thanks to our 2020 sponsors for their ongoing support;  we will be contacting them directly to discuss a refund or reallocation of their 2020 sponsorship to the 2021 seminar.

We appreciate your patience in these times. Stay safe.

2020 IGUA Spring Seminar

The Flashpoint Where Energy, the Environment
and Large Industry Meet

Canada continues to struggle with reconciling the economic realities of a resource-based economy with the need to curb carbon emissions. The 2020 Spring Seminar provides a timely platform to examine the emerging dynamic between gas markets and climate regulation, and the impact of carbon liability on industrial investment. The Seminar will examine the challenges facing energy intensive, and trade exposed industries as well as the opportunities for continued success in a carbon-constrained future.

Chantal Hebert will set the scene with a key note presentation the political reality of energy and climate in Canada. Utilities and pipeline representatives will discuss the latest developments in gas infrastructure with energy consumers, producers and marketers. Legal experts will highlight developments that could significantly impact energy development. Program details will follow in the new year.

Participation is by invitation only to keep the event small and conducive to a productive exchange among the key natural gas stakeholders (users, pipelines and utilities, marketers, regulators, and policy makers). Please come prepared to engage in a productive dialogue with your peers.
