Dr. Al-Obaidli is a certified transplant nephrologist and public health practitioner. In addition to his clinical excellence, Dr. Al-Obaidli, a recipient of multiple awards and recognitions, holds various leadership and advisory roles in the UAE and the Middle-East.

Dr. Woodle has authored over 330 scientific articles and many other scientific outlets. Dr. Woodle has been the recipient of multiple prestigious awards from NIH and the American Heart Association. Dr. Woodle actively contributed to organ transplantation by assuming lead investigator, advisory and volunteer roles.

He joined SKMC after working at King Fahad Medical City, Riyadh where he was a Professor of Clinical Immunology, consultant and head of Immunology services. Dr. ElGhazali is a well-established researcher with excellent record of publications exceeding 70 papers in international journals.

Dr. Moheeb Al-Awwami has more than 25 years of experience in histocompatibility and immunogenetics involving multi-organ transplantation including kidney, pancreas, heart, lung, liver, small bowel as well as hematopoietic stem cell at one of the biggest transplant centers in the Middle-East. Dr. Al-Awwami is an active inspector for CAP and ASHI, and an active member of multiple immunogenetics societies world-wide.

Dr. Peter Nickerson is a Distinguished Professor of Internal Medicine and Immunology and the Vice-Dean Research, Rady Faculty of Health Sciences at the University of Manitoba. Dr. Nickerson holds the Flynn Family Chair in Renal Transplantation at the University of Manitoba. Funded by the CIHR and NIH, his research program focuses on mechanisms underlying acute and chronic transplant rejection; developing non-invasive techniques for the diagnosis of renal allograft rejection; and health care system design to enhance access to transplant.

The scientific interest of Dr. Elfishawi focuses on histocompatibility in stem cell transplantation

Dr. Sebastiaan Heidt received his PhD degree in 2010 in the laboratory of Prof. Frans Claas on the characterization of B cells in relation to organ transplantation. Hereafter, he worked as a postdoctoral scientist in the laboratory of Prof. Kathryn Wood in Oxford for 2 years, mainly focusing on immune monitoring in kidney transplant recipients. Currently he is working as an associate professor and group leader of the laboratory of Transplantation Immunology of the Leiden University Medical Center, the Netherlands. His main research interests are differential immunogenicity of HLA, the various roles of B cells in organ transplantation, the formation and detection of HLA-specific memory B cells and immune monitoring of transplant recipients. Furthermore, he is managing director of the Eurotransplant Reference Laboratory, which is also situated in Leiden.
