The NASA Educator Professional Development Collaborative at
Texas State University is providing this workshop

NASA Education would like to provide an authentic NASA STEM experience to all educators by providing with knowledge and experience in using what resources are available. Please join us for a one-day workshop, hosted by NASA educators from the Kennedy Space Center where we will explore K-12 STEM resources, current NASA STEM activities, and digital access to NASA subject matter experts. This effort is open to all K-12 educators (in-service, pre-service and informal).

(El departamento de Educación de la NASA proveerá una experiencia NASA STEM a todos los educadores al compartir recursos de Ciencias, Tecnología, Ingeniería y Matemáticas (STEM) para los grados de K-12, así como actividades de NASA y acceso digital a expertos en las materias. Favor de registrarse para éste taller de un día hospiciado por educadores del Centro Espacial Kennedy de NASA. Ésta iniciativa está disponible para todos los educadores de grados K-12)

Ms. Uribe currently serves as the Educator Professional Development Interim at Kennedy Space Center and is the NASA STEM Engagement Coordinator for the LBJ Institute for STEM Education and Research. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineer from Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León, México; a Texas teaching certification in Mathematics grades 4-12, has 10+ years of experience as educator and is currently pursuing a doctorate in Mathematics Education at Texas State University.
 

Dr. Samuel García Jr. serves as a NASA Educator Professional Development Specialist, Assistant Professor of Practice for the LBJ Institute for Education and Research. Dr. García helps facilitate professional development to both formal and informal STEM educators utilizing NASA resources with a specific focus on Culturally Responsive Pedagogy. He also works with faculty serving in Minority Serving Institutions in developing STEM educational tools and resources for teachers to implement in their classrooms. Dr. García’s research agenda is geared towards community and educational change by creating healthy, equitable, and culturally responsive learning environments for traditionally underserved populations. Dr. García. earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Texas Río Grande Valley, formerly University of Texas Pan American and holds a doctorate degree in School Improvement from Texas State University.
