About Your Speaker:
- Dr. Hoder received both his DPT and MS degrees in Physical Therapy from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ).
- He received his clinical specialist certification in Neurology through the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties in 2003.
- He specializes in the evaluation and management of gait and balance issues for individuals with movement disorders and vestibular dysfunction.
- Dr. Hoder has significant experience in neuro-rehabilitation that he obtained while working as a Neurologic Clinical Specialist at the Rusk Institute at New York University Medical Center and the Kessler Institute in New Jersey.
- For the past 6 years, he was on faculty at Emory University in Atlanta teaching Adult Neurorehabilitation to entry-level physical therapy doctoral students.
- He helped develop the Physical Therapy Division’s faculty practice, seeing patients clinically in Emory's Movement Disorders and Dizziness and Balance Clinics.
- He remains on the faculty of the APTA and Emory University jointly sponsored Advanced Clinical Practice Series course, "Vestibular Rehabilitation: A Competency-Based Course," lecturing on central vestibular dysfunction
- He has recently joined the faculty of Virginia Commonwealth University as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurology and will be the Program Director of Rehabilitation and Wellness in the VCU Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders Center.
