Chaka Khan Performer & Ten-Time Grammy Award Winner For more than four decades, Chaka Khan has amazed audiences with the breadth and versatility of her musical gifts, transcending genres from R&B to rock, jazz, disco, gospel, country, and more. During her nearly five-decade career, Khan has sold approximately 70 million records globally and has won 10 Grammy Awards. Gayle King Chief Anchor and Co-Host of “CBS This Morning” Gayle King, Chief Anchor and Co-Host of “CBS This Morning,” will support the MLT community by serving as emcee for the MLT15 Gala. An Emmy Award-winning journalist, Ms. King has been recognized for her news coverage and masterful interviews that have distinguished her as a titan of the industry. Time magazine named Ms. King one of 2019’s Most Influential People. Ms. King also serves as Editor-in-Chief of the award-winning O, The Oprah Magazine. King previously hosted The Gayle King Show, a live, weekday television interview program on OWN: The Oprah Winfrey Network. The program, which featured a discussion of a broad variety of topics that include politics, cultural developments, was also broadcast on XM Satellite Radio, where it premiered in 2006. Before moving into print and radio, King worked for 18 years (1982-2000) as a television news anchor for CBS affiliate WFSB-TV in Hartford, Connecticut. King has received numerous awards for her extensive work as a journalist. In addition to three Emmys, she was honored in 2008 with the American Women in Radio & Television Gracie Award for Outstanding Radio Talk Show and in 2010 with both the Individual Achievement Award for Host-Entertainment/Information and the New York Women in Communications’ Matrix Award recipient. | |
Deval Patrick Managing Director, Bain Capital Governor Patrick joined Bain Capital in 2015 and is a Managing Director and Co-Managing Partner of the Double Impact business. Prior to joining the firm, he served as Governor of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts for eight years. Before entering public office, Governor Patrick was Executive Vice President and General Counsel of The Coca-Cola Company. He also worked as Vice President and General Counsel of Texaco, Inc. and served on the company’s Executive Council. Governor Patrick was previously a Partner at Day, Berry & Howard and a Partner at Hill & Barlow. In 1994, he was appointed by President Clinton as Assistant Attorney General overseeing the Civil Rights Division of the U.S. Department of Justice. Mr. Patrick graduated cum laude with a BA degree from Harvard College and earned his JD degree from Harvard Law School. | |
David Stern CEO, DJS Global Advisors and Former Commissioner of the NBA David Stern completed his 30-year tenure as NBA commissioner on February 1, 2014. Currently, as CEO of DJS Global Advisors, Mr. Stern is a Senior Advisor to the NBA, investment bank PJT Partners, venture capital firm Greycroft Partners and PWC’s Entertainment and Media Advisory Practice, as well as an advisor to several sports technology start-ups. As commissioner, Mr. Stern built the model for professional sports in league operations, public service, global marketing, television distribution and digital technology. He oversaw the NBA’s extraordinary growth with seven new franchises, a more than 30-fold increase in revenues, a dramatic expansion of national television exposure and the launch of two leagues, the Women’s National Basketball Association and the NBA Development League. Under his leadership, the league launched NBA Cares, a global social responsibility program that builds on the NBA’s mission of addressing important social issues in the United States and around the world. Mr. Stern is a 2013 recipient of the W.E.B. Du Bois Medal, awarded by Harvard University, and a recipient of the Yale Executive Leadership Institute’s Legend in Leadership Award which celebrates contemporary business leaders who have made transformational contributions across sectors. A native of New York City, Mr. Stern is a graduate of Rutgers University and Columbia Law School. | |
