Ofelia Tamayo
Vice President, Corporate Audit
BANDAI NAMCO Holdings Inc. USA

Ever since my college audit professor challenged whether I would be a good internal auditor, I have continuously shown my passion and love for internal audit. I live to challenge business processes and improve them for sounder risk management and efficiencies.

Currently, I lead internal audit in the Americas for a global toy, game and entertainment manufacturer and distributor with headquarters in Japan. I live our mission of dreams, fun and inspiration daily by providing assurance and advisory services for our various strategic business units. I was recognized by the Global CFO for significant contribution for Internal Control Assessment within my first year as the founder of the internal audit function outside of our global office.

I have been an internal auditor for over 20 years. Prior to my current position, I climbed the career ladder with positions in banking and local government. I managed internal auditing for financial, healthcare and technology clients while at Deloitte.

I am an addicted volunteer and love connecting with people through my role as the Institute of Internal Auditor Western Region District Advisor. I advocate for my profession one auditor at a time, and this role lets me be a part of over 190,000 internal auditors worldwide.
