Professor Phillip Ebrall Professor of Chiropractic, and Program Leader, Chiropractic School of Medical and Applied Sciences - CQ University, Adjunct Professor, Faculty of Medicine- IMU Phillip Ebrall has over 20 years experience as a clinically-driven chiropractic academic and is currently leading the establishment of Australia's first chiropractic program based outside a capital city in Mackay, Queensland. He is Professor of Chiropractic at CQUniversity and now specialises in developing and renewing the chiropractic curriculum to suit millennium students and to better integrate technology to facilitate 'anywhere, anytime clinical learning and assessment'. He moved to CQUniversity after 21 years with RMIT University in Melbourne where he was Head of the Discipline of Chiropractic. His curriculum experience includes 17 years managing the only accredited chiropractic program in Japan, establishing what has become an accredited chiropractic program in South Korea, and he is also in the process of working with the International Medical University in Kuala Lumpur to roll-out the first chiropractic program in South East Asia. Prof Ebrall's PhD was in the field of male adolescent low back pain and his current research interests beyond critical appraisal of the chiropractic curriculum relate to better understanding chiropractic through Practice Based Research Networks. | |
Dr Michael Hooker (AK Cert) MS, B.Chiro, BPhEd, Dip teaching, Certificated ICAK member, MNZCA Dr Hooker has six years experience practicing as a chiropractor and Applied Kinesiologist. Prior to this he held a position of Head of School in Exercise and Sport Science at UCOL, Palmerston North, NZ. Here he lectured primarily in the area of exercise conditioning and rehabilitation. Dr Donald McDowall (DIBAK) Dr McDowall is President of the Australian chapter of the ICAK. He is a chiropractor and a teaching Diplomate for the ICAK. He is credited with introducing Applied Kinesiology and the Touch for Health program to the health professions and public of Australia and New Zealand. Dr McDowall completed a Masters of Applied Science degree in Musculoskeletal Management. He lectures internationally and has authored peer reviewed papers on various aspects of applied kinesiology methods. Dr McDowall has been in private practice in Canberra, ACT since 1974. He has served on the ACT Registration Board for chiropractors and osteopaths, the ACT Chiropractors Association, the Australian Chiropractor's Association, and the Chiropractor’s Association of Australia. Dr Ian Niven (AK Cert) B AppSc (Chiro), DACNB, MICAK (Cert), FAAFN Dr Niven has been in private practice as a chiropractor since 1983 and is one of the founding members of the Australasian AK Association. His particular interest is in an integrated approach to clinical practice combining nutrition, biomechanics, living skills and neurology. Recent further studies have been in neurology with a particular emphasis on vestibular rehabilitation.
