The 2019 GCMAS Meeting will be held March 26-29, 2019, at the Frisco Convention Center in Frisco Texas. The Frisco Conference Center, and attached Embassy Suites, is conveniently located approximately 25mins north of downtown Dallas, and is easily accessible from both Dallas Love Field and DFW International airports. Frisco has been ranked as the fastest growing city in America, and is often referred to as Sports City USA, as it is home to 7 professional/semi-professional sports teams including the Dallas Stars, Dallas Cowboys and FC Dallas. The Embassy Suites Hotel has 330 recently renovated two room suites, and includes free made to order breakfast and a nightly evening reception for all hotel guests
GCMAS will have access to over 42,000 square feet in the Frisco Conference Center, which will allow for some exciting new programming. With support from our Exhibitors we hope to create several hands-on mini-labs, which can be used for tutorials/workshops and demonstrations throughout the conference. With this unique opportunity, the meeting schedule has been changed with Scientific Programming beginning mid-morning on Tuesday, and tutorials/workshops spread throughout the week.
New Programming Format
The 2019 GCMAS program will follow a new format. Tutorials will now be offered in the afternoons each day, instead of on a pre-conference day (typically on Tuesday). This year the scientific program will begin late Tuesday morning. Scientific Programming will conclude at approximately noon on Friday. The preliminary program can be found here.
Mission and Purpose
The mission of GCMAS is to improve functional outcomes and the quality of life for individuals with any movement disorder at any age. We apply the latest technology and professional knowledge to measure, evaluate, and understand human movement, provide a forum for professional interaction and exchange of ideas, promote education, stimulate research, and disseminate current knowledge and best practices to enhance human movement and health.
In doing so, we seek:
- To advance scientific knowledge, technical capabilities, and clinical practice in the field of human movement.
- To provide a forum for professional interaction and collaboration among physicians, allied health professionals, engineers and scientists that will facilitate improved care for individuals with movement disorders.
- To educate and encourage the career development of students interested in human movement research.
