Adrienne Foster Adrienne Foster is a Certified Trainer with Dale Carnegie and Entrepreneur. She received her Bachelor's of Business Administration in Accounting from Austin Peay State University and Master's of Business Administration in Accounting from The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Her professional experience includes 18 years of accounting and auditing in non-profit, governmental/health care, corporate and small business environments. While she has practiced accounting as a profession, training and encouraging others has always been her passion. Adrienne volunteers and serves on the boards of several local organizations, and active with her church's counseling and marriage ministries. She resides in Bartlett, TN with her husband Freeman and their two sons, Anderson and Donovan | |
Mike Jacka CIA, CPA, CPCU, CLU Mike Jacka, CIA, CPA, CPCU, CLU, FCLS, worked for 30 years in internal audit for Farmers Insurance. During that time he was responsible for projects as far-ranging as development of fraud investigation procedures for a 100-person audit shop, overseeing 30 associates as head of Western Regional Auditing Operations, and designing a new auditor training program for a global organization Since retiring from the corporate world in January 2013, Jacka co-founded and became the designated chief creative pilot at Flying Pig Audit, Consulting, and Training Solutions (FPACTS), a group dedicated to working with internal auditors to improve their departments, their organizations, and their profession Jacka is the co-author of Business Process Mapping: Improving Customer Satisfaction, now in its second edition, and the accompanying workbook. He is also co-author of Auditing Social Media: A Governance and Risk Guide, and The Marketing Strategy: A Risk and Governance Guide to Building a Brand, both published by The IIA. He wrote the Lighter Side articles for The IIA’s member magazine, Internal Auditor. Not having learned their lesson from that experience, the magazine now has him contribute his column titled "The Mind of Jacka." He also writes the associated blog, “From the Mind of Jacka.” He holds a Bachelor of Arts in archaeology and a Bachelor of Science in accounting from Arizona State University. He is a member of The IIA’s Phoenix Chapter, the American Institute of Certified Professional Accountants, and the Society of Chartered Property Casualty Underwriters. | |
Robert A King Robert A. King is the Chief Audit Executive for FedEx Corporation, a US $50 billion transportation industry leader. In his role, he is responsible for leading and directing the worldwide Internal Audit organization in proactively and independently identifying and assessing key business risks for the Corporation in direct support of Executive Management and the Audit Committee of the Board of Directors. In addition, he serves on the Information Technology Oversight Committee of the FedEx Board of Directors. FedEx Internal Audit is responsible for auditing all of the operating companies within the extensive FedEx family and throughout the world. Mr. King has over 30 years of auditing, accounting and information technology experience. He has been a leader in developing and promoting best practices as an integral part of the Internal Audit Department and ensuring the audit organization is a catalyst for improving the quality of controls, operations, and strategies on behalf of the shareholders, Executive Management and the Board of Directors. Robert is a frequent speaker before various audiences within the Audit Industry on Audit Committee Effectiveness, Fraud Auditing, and Best Practices in Internal Audit. He is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, the Information Systems Audit and Control Association, the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners and the Memphis chapter of the Institute of Internal Auditors. He serves on the Advisory Board of Louisiana State University E.J. Ourso College of Business Center for Internal Auditing and the Accounting Advisory Board of Christian Brothers University. Active in his local community, he currently serves as Pro-Am Committee chairman of the FedEx St. Jude Classic PGA Tournament, which directly supports the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. | |
John L Merino John L. Merino is Corporate Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer for FedEx Corporation since 2004. He is the primary executive responsible for the company’s consolidated financial statements, external financial reporting, and accounting due diligence on corporate acquisitions. He is also responsible for the Corporation’s financial shared services organization and the design and implementation of global financial systems, processes and accounting policies throughout the Corporation. Mr. Merino is responsible for the Corporation’s retirement plans management and administration and is a member of the Company’s Retirement Plans Investment Board. He is a also a member of the Company’s Benefits Strategy Board which sets strategy and design parameters for the enterprise’s health and welfare programs covering over 400,000 members. Mr. Merino also has global responsibility for the Corporation’s strategic sourcing organizations that manage spend of over $20 billion across the enterprise. Mr. Merino was Staff Vice President and Corporate Controller from 2000 to 2004 and Staff Director Corporate Reporting and Analysis from 1998 to 2000. Before joining FedEx, Mr. Merino worked for Ernst & Young LLP in Northeast Ohio for 13 years. A native of Stow, Ohio, Merino received his bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the University of Akron. He is active in the Memphis community serving on the advisory board for the School of Accountancy of the University of Memphis and supporting local institutions such as the Memphis Cultural Arts Enrichment Center, the Animal Protection Association and Le Bonheur Children’s Hospital. | |
Dr. Kathy Tuberville , SPHR, Ed.D. University of Memphis Ron Hart Leader Department of Management Director, Avron B. Fogelman Professional Development Center At the Fogelman College of Business and Economics, Kathy Tuberville teaches undergraduate students in HR and Management courses including Managing Employee Wellness, Managerial Leadership, Strategic Management, and Human Resource Management. Kathy coordinates and instructs Management and International Business interns who are pursuing academic credit for their internships. In her dual role, Kathy is the Director of the Avron B. Fogelman Professional Development Center where she develops programming and curriculum for our students to help prepare them for the school to work transition post-graduation. Through this work, Kathy has the opportunity to collaborate with many community partners who want to help students succeed in the workplace. | |
