Harpreet Bains
Executive Director, Agent Lending Global Product Head
J.P. Morgan

Harpreet Bains is Global Head of Product Management in the Agent Lending Group of Investor Services at J.P Morgan. Harpreet has been in the securities lending business for 11 years, and in her current position based in London, she is responsible for the ongoing management and execution of the product, including strategy and financial performance. Her role involves working closely with sales and relationship management to deliver securities lending solutions to clients.  She began her career in J.P Morgan in 1999, and since joining she has held various roles. Prior to securities lending, she spent 5 years as an internal auditor for Investor Services, and before audit, she worked as a legal entity financial controller with coverage of the European entities. Harpreet holds a first class Honours degree in Business and Financial Services.

Francois Baratte
Senior Industry Affairs Adviser
Association of the Luxembourg Fund Industry (ALFI)

François Baratte is a Senior Industry Affairs Adviser at ALFI, the Association of the Luxembourg Fund Industry. He joined the association in September 2017 to coordinate the Market Infrastructures and Depositaries regulatory portfolios.

Before joining ALFI, François was Director at FBA Conseil, a consultancy firm he created in 2005. He has fulfilled a dozen of significant assignments on regulatory and valuation aspects covering the full scope of financial instruments and transactions. He has led these missions across 10 countries for 5 Globally Systematically Important banks (GSIBs) and a National Competent Authority.

Prior to joining FBA, François has been a consultant for CSC Peat Marwick, then Manager at Accenture, in charge of designing and implementing accounting and reporting solutions for financial departments of large clients.

François holds a Master degree and a Post Graduate degree in Business Administration from the University Paris Dauphine (France). He speaks English and French.

Kathleen Bendernagel
Executive Director, Liquidity Operations, EMEA
Goldman Sachs

Kathleen is the head of EMEA Liquidity Operations and Bank Relations at Goldman Sachs, responsible for the oversight of short term forecasting, post-trade activities for secured financing, and management of cash and securities across global markets. After 18 years with Goldman Sachs, Kathleen has held various Operations roles in Fixed Income, Treasury and Funding, in locations across the United States, Japan, India and United Kingdom. She is a member of the ISLA Executive Operations committee, the European Repo and Collateral Council (ERCC) Operations Working Group and the ECB’s AMI-SeCo Collateral Management Harmonization Taskforce. Kat holds a BBA in Finance, from Loyola University in Maryland.

Stephen Burton
Managing Director, Post Trade Division
AFME (The Association for Financial Markets in Europe)

Stephen, Managing Director of the Post Trade Division, has primary responsibility for clearing, settlement and trade confirmation related issues. He acts as an observer on the ECB’s AMI-SeCo advisory group, is a member of the T2S Harmonisation Steering Group and supports the relevant AFME groups. Previously, Stephen was responsible for implementation of equity business strategy in the post trade division at Deutsche Bank. Prior to that, he spent 10 years at Citi, working with operational groups to deliver pan-European market initiatives and represented the company at various market infrastructure and industry user groups.

Andrew Dyson

In June 2016, Andrew became the CEO of the International Securities Lending Association (ISLA) after serving 3 years as their Chief Operating Officer. Previously, Andrew held the role of Director Specialist Sales and Head of Account Management, Europe, Middle East and Africa at Data Explorers, now Markit Securities Finance, where he was instrumental in the development of the group’s securities lending risk services as well as day to day responsibility for the groups business in Europe. Andy joined Data Explorers from Prudential M&G, where he was Head of Business Development and Risk for Securities Lending with responsibility for sales, marketing and product development. He was also directly responsible for Risk and the management of the team’s discrete IT resources. All aspects of legal and compliance also fell within his area of responsibility. Prior to his appointment at M&G Prudential Andrew had worked at Deutsche Bank for ten years. During his time at Deutsche he held senior marketing and product development positions within the Agency Securities Lending Business and also spent four years as Repo Product Manager where he was instrumental in the development of the banks fixed income repo franchise including the deployment of front-office risk management tools. He was also was heavily involved in the deployment of e commerce solutions for both clients and counterparts. He joined Deutsche in 1992 from HSBC, where he had previously worked extensively in the commercial bank and corporate finance areas of the business.

Julia Foster
Vice President, EMEA Markets – Securities Finance
BNY Mellon

Julia joined The Bank of New York Mellon in 2001 and worked in UK custody operations before moving to the Securities Lending department in 2007. She is currently the Manager of the Middle Office for International Securities Lending with teams in London, Manchester, and Pittsburgh.

Robert Frost
Head of Product Development
Pirum Systems

Robert Frost joined Pirum in 2008 in a client service role and quickly became involved in product development. Robert now has responsibility for all product development at Pirum globally and also oversees the client services team. Prior to joining Pirum, Robert spent 4 years as a team leader at Goldman Sachs in the Securities Lending middle office looking after collateral management and trade support. Prior to that he was working at HSBC for 4 years in a similar role.

Joseph Gillingwater
Senior Vice President, Head of International Fixed Income Securities Lending Trading
Northern Trust

Joseph Gillingwater is a Senior Vice President and Head of International Fixed Income Securities Lending Trading at Northern Trust in London. He joined Northern Trust in 2016, and is responsible for all aspects of fixed income trading strategy and initiatives across Europe, Middle-East and Africa (EMEA) and Asia-Pacific (APAC). Previously, Joseph was a Senior Portfolio Manager at State Street Global Advisors where he was responsible for the management of securities lending investments and fixed income portfolios.

Matthew Glennon
Director, Head of EMEA Equity Supply Trading

Matt is the Head of EMEA Equity Supply Trading team at Citi based in London. With over 20 years’ experience within Citi, he has combined expertise across FX, Fixed Income, and Equities. He has held various roles within operations and trading prior to joining the Equity Securities Supply Trading team in 2009. Matt leads trading technology initiatives within Citi and focuses on post-trade impacts and opportunities.

David Hiscock
Senior Director - Market Practice and Regulatory Policy
International Capital Market Association

Having spent over twenty years in various roles at JPMorgan, most recently as Managing Director and European Head of Hybrid Capital Structuring, David Hiscock joined the International Capital Market Association (ICMA), as a Senior Director, in November 2008. At ICMA he is the Deputy Head of Market Practice and Regulatory Policy, with his current responsibilities including the coordinating of ICMA’s Regulatory Policy Committee; work on short-term markets’ (repo/ECP) topics; and collateral related initiatives.

Gavin Howard
London Software Engineering Lead

Howard joined EquiLend in 2016 as London Software Engineering Lead and has been responsible for spearheading the firm’s journey to the Cloud and has been instrumental in the creation of DataLend’s API offering. He is now working to expand the API offering into the Post Trade space. Before joining the team at EquiLend, Gavin spent 5 years working at Goldman Sachs in the Securities Lending Analytics and Trading Technology teams.
Pooma Kimis
Managing Director

Pooma Kimis became Managing Director at OMFIF on 1 January 2018, having previously been Deputy Managing Director. She continues her responsibilities for building and enhancing relationships with central banks, sovereign wealth funds, pension funds and debt management offices as well as counterparts in the private sector.

Kimis plays an active role in consolidating knowledge about these Global Public Investors and reinforcing OMFIF's institutional links. Major themes include reserve management, securities lending and capital markets liquidity, cross-border flows and related regulation, and asset allocation strategies.

Prior to joining OMFIF in January 2012, she was at a boutique private equity firm before moving into the real estate finance team, and then the fixed income team at a global investment bank.

Kimis takes a keen interest in entrepreneurship and finance for social good. She is Partner and Co-Founder at Earth Heir, a luxury ethical craftsmanship brand which infuses modern design into traditional crafts and abides by fairtrade principles. She is a City Committee Member in children’s mental health charity, Place2Be, under the royal patronage of the Duchess of Cambridge.

Born in Malaysia, Kimis speaks Malay, Tamil and French. She is closely involved in Asian and African affairs and frequently comments on current topics of interest. She is an active University College London (UCL) alumnus, holds a postgraduate in Law and enrolled at the Solicitors Regulation Authority in the UK.

Mr Andy Krangel
Director, Citi Agency Securities Lending

Andy has been employed by Citi for the past 29 years. During his career at Citi Andy has held various management positions in custody operations including agency lending operations, was a trader on the Citi agency lending desk and spent 5 years in Product Risk Management where he obtained Credit Officer status. Prior to Citi Andy was at RBS for 3 years. Since mid-2006 Andy has worked in Citi's Agency Securities Lending department. Andy runs Client Delivery & Product Development for Citi’s EMEA Agency Securities Lending Business and serves on the ISLA Board.

Jonathan Lombardo
Senior Vice President, Global Funding & Financing Sales

Jonathan Lombardo is member of the Deutsche Boerse Global Funding & Financing Sales team. He is responsible for sales and relationship management and is leading the securities lending initiative with a focus on Eurex Clearing’s Lending CCP - its Central Counterparty service for securities lending. Jonathan has over 25 years’ experience in the securities lending market and has had previous roles at Citibank, Secfinex and Pirum. Jonathan is a representative on the ISLA board and presently holds the role of Chairman.
Alistair Mackenzie

Alistair has been at BBH since 2008 as Head of European Securities Lending Operations. Prior to joining BBH, he has held various operations management roles at JPMorganChase, Deutsche Bank, Goldman Sachs and London Global Securities.

Tim Meredith

Tim Meredith is an Executive Director and Head of Banks Sales, EMEA for the J.P. Morgan Investor Services business. The Banks Sales team manages a portfolio of large Bank, Broker Dealer and Bank-owned Asset Manager relationships, which span the range of Investor Services products. Tim has 17 years securities services industry experience and has been with J.P. Morgan for the last 12 years including 9 years in London and 3 years in New York. Tim has a degree and post graduate qualification in law.

Sachin Mohindra
Executive Director, Securities Division Operations

Sachin Mohindra has over 13 years of experience at Goldman Sachs, where he has covered a variety of cross-product post-trade roles including securities settlements, middle office and trade support. Sachin is now responsible for European securities post-trade business development at Goldman Sachs. Sachin is the co-chair of the AFME Post-Trade Transaction, Clearing & Settlement Committee and CSDR Task Force. He has also co-chaired the AFME T+2 Task Force and lead the publication of the industry-wide AFME TARGET2-Securities (T2S) recommendations paper. Sachin is also an advisory board member at EuroCCP and participates in various LCH working groups. Sachin holds an Honours degree in Computer Science and Management from the University of Edinburgh.

James Montgomerie

James Montgomerie is the EMEA Head of Securities Lending Operations and Head of Financing & Collateral Operations (Glasgow) at Morgan Stanley. Since joining Morgan Stanley in 2005, James has worked across a variety of Operations teams, spanning all areas of the Post Trade environment in supporting products which have included Derivatives, Repo and latterly Securities Lending.  James is a member of the International Securities Lending Association (ISLA) Executive Operations committee and Chair of the ISLA CSDR Working Group.

Ed Oliver
Managing Director, Product Development

Ed Oliver is managing director, product development at eSecLending (Europe) Ltd. He is responsible for leading the company’s product development efforts focused on new markets and collateral and liquidity solutions. Ed joined eSecLending in 2010. Prior to joining eSecLending, Ed was the Global Head of Consulting at Data Explorers (now acquired by IHS Markit), specializing in providing securities financing advice. Ed also held positions at Northern Trust, Baring Asset Management and Lloyds Bank.

Matthew Pountain

Matt Pountain joined Broadridge Financial Solutions in 2012 and he is now the Head of Product Management for the International Post-Trade business. Prior to joining Broadridge, he gained 20 years’ experience in a wide range of business service and technology roles across the Retail/Wealth Management, Investment Banking and Global Custody sectors.

David Selwood
Vice President, Client Relationship Manager, Capital Markets Product Manager Managed Services

With responsibility as one of the global team of Securities Finance relationship managers as well as product manager engaged with the design, delivery and integration of Managed Services across multiple solutions within FIS, a focus on clients and their specific needs forms a key part of David’s day to day work.  As client RM, David provides a vital link between the client and FIS, from support and development through to future planning around their business requirements, translating this into a suitable product environment.   As product manager for Securities Finance Managed Services for the last six years, David has been responsible for the design, build and growth of a successful new business which sits across the existing product solutions.   Building on the FIS global footprint, the integrated solution approach across software and services is also a major part of David’s approach. Forward looking, David’s role focusses on platform integration and convergence, alongside the need to automate trade and lifecycle management, enhance straight through processing, meet regulatory demands , all within a single solution model.

Marc Turnbull
Director, Head of the EMEA Securities Lending Operations

Marc Turnbull, Director, is the head of the EMEA Securities Lending Operations. Securities Lending Operations is responsible for the management of post-execution lending activity, including trade processing and settlement, reconciliation, inventory optimization and collateral management. Additionally, the team is responsible for facilitating the effective and risk-mitigated delivery and growth of the Securities Lending business.  Mr Turnbull's service with the firm dates back to 2010 with Business Operations. In his previous role, Mr Turnbull was the Team leader for the processing team within EMEA Corporate Actions working closely with other operational teams globally and BRS Solutions for external client training. Prior to joining BlackRock, Mr Turnbull worked for State Street in Edinburgh, where he served in several Corporate Actions roles.  Mr Turnbull's won a CISI award in 2015 for achieving the highest mark for the Asset Servicing unit part of the Investment Operations Certificate.

Philip Winter
Director, Head of European Securities Lending Supply

A Deutsche Bank veteran of over 20 years, Phil has held a number of wide ranging roles within the Securities Finance team across London, Tokyo, and Hong Kong. Since 2014, Phil has been based back in London as the Head of European Securities Lending Supply and prior to that ran Deutsche Bank’s Securities Lending business in Hong Kong. Phil has been a member of the ISLA board of Directors since 2017 and holds a Master’s Degree in Applied Finance.
