The 2019 Art of Coaching Conference promises to be a learning event unlike any other!
Great content, great speakers, great facilitators, a great coaching community and yoga are all coming back. This year we have four learning blocks which will give participants plenty of opportunities to acquire new knowledge, skill and capacity. Sessions will range from 1 hr workshops to 3 hour sessions so there is something for every learner. We will explore topics - from coaching individuals to coaching teams; from building resilience in ourselves and others to creating more equitable systems.

In addition to what you might expect from a traditional education conference, you will also have independent time to explore the larger Pacific Grove area, opportunities to learn about equity in leadership and have access to our coaching booths to get some quick coaching for yourself and/or observe others in live coaching sessions! Interested in how systemic inequities are interrupted in other parts of the world? Carol Owala returns for some international learning opportunities.

If in the evenings you want to continue deep and focused conversations then you will have the option of joining fireside chats or if you are feeling a bit more social and like great music, the evening mixer might be for you!

These will be two highly engaging, reflective and provocative days of learning in one of the most beautiful settings in the world! Our environment will nurture our learning, at the Asilomar Conference Center, on the Monterey Bay, you'll also be able to walk along the beach and enjoy the coastal forests.

Keynotes:
Elena Aguilar, author of
The Art of Coaching, The Art of Coaching Teams, and newly released, Onward.

Plus we have another special keynote- Nadia Lopez! Nadia leads Mott Hall Bridges Academy in Brooklyn, New York. You may remember stories of the amazing impact she and her team have had on students after one of their scholars, Vidal Chestnut was featured on Humans of New York. Be sure to check out her Ted Talk: "Why open a school? To close a prison." It is powerful.

Post Conference: Integrating the Learning
As we learn, we have the opportunity to expand our leadership but not if we are not intentional about how to apply that learning. The post conference on Friday from 1:30-4:00pm PST will involve a small group of leaders (capped at 25), who will spend the afternoon with Elena processing their learning and strategically planning how to make adjustments in their work. During this time you will get very concrete and specific about how to best integrate your new learning. What shifts will be made in your leadership? In your work plans? In how you manage and coach? In how you navigate change? What will you now consider when you create or evaluate systems in your school or organization? What results are now possible? You will have support and guidance in crafting these plans to ensure change happens!
