1/26/2022 New Vaccination Requirements for 340B University Registrants

As we continue to monitor the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, the 340B Prime Vendor Program, managed by Apexus, is requiring all 340B University registrants, faculty and staff to be vaccinated to attend the 340B University in San Diego on Jan. 30, 2022.

We feel that as we serve America’s safety net providers – who have been strained by ongoing hospitalizations due to COVID-19 –we need to do what we can to help minimize the spread of the virus in the community. To clarify, those without a proof of vaccination record will not be permitted to attend this live 340B University session. We are following our company guidelines that a negative COVID-19 test in lieu of proof of vaccination is not permitted and realize this is a different standard than 340B Coalition Winter Conference requirements.

  • If you will not complete your vaccination cycle prior to Jan. 29, 2022, please cancel your 340B University registration. Questions or cancellations can be directly sent to us at 340BUniversity@340Bpvp.com.

If you have a COVID-19 vaccination record

  • On-site proof of vaccination by card, app or digital photo will be accepted.
  • It is recommended that all attendees complete this process at least 24 hours before the event, as there can be time delays.

You are invited to attend 340B University

Apexus offers 340B University, a foundational education program designed to meet the practical needs of 340B Prime Vendor Program (PVP) participants and other program stakeholders. Topics cover the 340B fundamentals; therefore, this education is intended for those new to 340B, and is not intended as an annual update.

340B University will be presented for all 340B stakeholders and will feature a broad range of educational sessions, covering the following topics:

  • 340B Basics—Introduction to the 340B Drug Pricing Program
  • Program integrity and audits
  • Implementation/policy—Maintain compliant 340B purchasing practices at entity and retail/contract pharmacy
  • Pricing—Calculation and integrity concerns
  • 340B and Medicaid—Overview of billing and duplicate discount policies

Take advantage of the opportunity for hands-on practical advice to help with 340B Program implementation. Specially designed breakout sessions will help you enhance program integrity by learning from industry experts and networking with peers.

Objectives

Upon completion of the 340B University event, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the history, intent, and statutory principles of the 340B Program.
  • Outline the process for addressing 340B policy and the maintenance of integrity of 340B Program participation.
  • Describe the role of the manufacturer, wholesaler, Prime Vendor, and covered-entity in 340B pricing integrity.
  • Identify the roles and responsibilities of 340B implementation and monitoring that may be managed by a pharmacy technician.

340B University meets these objectives in a one-day, intensive learning experience that mixes traditional lecture and interactive/practical application learning formats. Continuing education credit is available for pharmacists and pharmacy technicians.

Target Audience

This program is targeted to pharmacists practicing in 340B covered entities and their contracted pharmacies, as well as all other 340B stakeholders, including vendors, manufacturers, consultants, hospital leadership, and pharmacy technicians.
