The PLA Queensland Region State Conference aims to share emerging research, best practice, innovative workplace tools, models and ideas. The conference is the year’s best opportunity for parks and leisure professionals to share experiences and learnings.
The Conference ensures many opportunities to discuss and explore ideas as well as learn about cutting edge practice and research. The conference supports people who have new and innovative concepts, theories and ideas to test and share with colleagues.
The Conference Organising Committee is seeking proposals for:
- Keynote addresses (40 min)
- Single or shared oral presentations (20 min)
- Workshops (25 min – one session or 50 min – over 2 sessions)
DAY 1 – Technical Tours
DAY 2 & 3 – Creating a Liveable Community
If you would like to present on some great Qld projects or research. The following themes are suggested:
- Stream A - Access all areas
- Stream B - Healthy parks, Healthy people
- Stream C -New and innovative ideas
Abstracts must be submitted using the online system below. Acknowledgement of the receipt of abstracts will be made by email.
- Title of presentation/ workshop
- Session Type (single presentation, shared presentation, workshop)
- Length of session (Key Note -30 min or Single/shared presentation 20mins) min, workshop 30 or 60mins)
- Presenter name(s) Presenter’s position and workplace/ company
- Abstract - A summary of 100 – 150 words describing the issue/ presentation. Abstracts will be used in the Conference Program.
Key Dates
Abstracts Open: Monday 15th January 2018
Abstracts close Monday 12th March 2018
Speakers notified of acceptance: Friday 16th March 2018
This year’s conference will also include the State Awards of Excellence and a two day trade show.
