Jonathan Craig has worked as a geoscientist in the oil and gas industry since 1980. He was initially a field geologist in Africa, Australia and the Middle East. Then, he became a structural geologist with Shell in East Africa and Australia, before joining LASMO in 1986 to work on a wide variety of exploration, development and new business projects. In 1996, he was appointed as Chief Geologist of LASMO plc. Jonathan is a member of the following: the Scientific Advisory Boards of CASP, the Energy and Geoscience Institute (EGI) of the University of Utah, the CeREES of the University of Durham and the Scott Polar Research Institute, the AAPG House of Delegates and Chairman of the Maghreb Petroleum Research Group. He served as the Chair of the Geological Society Petroleum Group (2011-2013) and is currently the President of the European Region of the American Association of Petroleum Geologists. In 2008, he was awarded an Honorary Professorship as Visiting Professor of Petroleum Geology at University College London. In 2010, he was made an Honorary Professor at the University of Durham. He is also a Visiting Professor at the University of Jammu and the University of Kashmir in India. From 2000 to 2003, Jonathan was Head of Projects and Chief Geologist of the Eni London Technical Exchange. In 2003, he was appointed as Global Exploration Advisor and the Prospect Evaluation Manager—and subsequently, in 2006, as the Manager, Geological Services for Eni. From 2008 to 2010 he was Head of Regional Studies and Exploration Opportunities for Eni with responsibility for Eni's global programme of basin and regional exploration evaluation. He is currently Vice-President Exploration and Unconventional Resources and Exploration Strategy Advisor for Eni based in the Eni Headquarters in Milan, Italy. |
