TRAVEL AND HOTEL
Do I need to book my airline ticket through Worldview Travel?
We highly suggest you book through our travel agent, but it is not required. A benefit in doing so is that your airline ticket is prepaid by Toastmasters International and you will not pay for it out-of-pocket. We can also assist you better if challenges arise.
I am planning personal travel in conjunction with the training. Is this permissible?
Worldview Travel can help customize your itinerary, keeping in mind Toastmasters International will pay for your round-trip public transportation costs at the lowest rate, between the passenger terminal and the training site. If you choose to upgrade to a different class of service or if you make any variations to your itinerary outside of the standard route, you will be asked for your personal credit card to cover any additional fees. Please refer to Protocol 10.0: Region Advisor Expenses.
I would like to purchase airline tickets for my guest. How is this handled?
Make your request to Worldview Travel in the comments box in the airline reservation section of the online registration form. Indicate that you would like the itinerary to include an additional traveler. You will be required to provide a personal credit card to Worldview Travel for the purchase of additional tickets.
Will Toastmasters reimburse me for my visa or passport?
Toastmasters International will reimburse you for any fees incurred with obtaining a visa; however, you are responsible for any fees associated with your passport. If you incur any visa fees, please include the receipt in your final District Leader Training expense reimbursement request through Concur.
Can I extend my stay at the hotel before or after the training?
If you choose to stay at the hotel beyond the meeting/convention dates, please understand that the dates and group rate are subject to availability and are not guaranteed. Please email Meeting Planner, Trisha Pollock at meetingplanning@toastmasters.org to ensure your request can be accommodated before you approve your airline itinerary.
When will I receive my hotel confirmation number?
You will receive an email with your hotel confirmation number one month prior to your departure date.
How do I get to the hotel from the airport?
Taxi service is easily accessible at the taxi stands located on Level 2 of the domestic and international arrival areas of the Vancouver International Airport (YVR). More information will be provided in your final confirmation email in August.

Can I bring a guest to the Board of Directors and Region Advisors Reception?
You are welcome to bring a spouse/life partner.
Can I bring a guest to the World Championship of Public Speaking or the President’s Inauguration and Celebration?
Yes, individual tickets are available to purchase for the World Championship of Public Speaking and the President's Inauguration and Celebration. During the registration process, you will be asked if you would like to register a guest–if your answer is yes, simply follow the instructions.
