Cleantech News

Nova Scotia is setting up a $24-million fund to help clean technology companies access capital. By The Canadian Press, April 2011

Premier Darrell Dexter said knowledge-based companies create good jobs, help grow the economy and are vital to the province's prosperity. "This fund will support the growth of emerging clean technology companies and move the province in a new direction forward," Dexter said Wednesday in a statement. Clean technology includes renewable energy, energy efficiency, air and water quality solutions, ... (more).

Welcome to the premiere networking plenary-conference for entrepreneurs, developers, innovators and investors either engaged or interested in clean technology and related business models that provide cleantech solutions to reducing our carbon imprint. The day will focus on defining clean technologies in Atlantic Canada in hand with what’s needed to develop a sustainable cleantech sector and identify the challenges and opportunities for cleantech organizations.

CLEANTECH-EAST provides a forum to bring together the key individuals and organizations in today's clean technology sectors, clusters and industry in Atlantic Canada.  Plan to network with similar minded individuals as they embark on this one day plenary-conference to define clean technologies in Atlantic Canada, ask what’s needed to develop a sustainable cleantech sector and identify the challenges and opportunities in the cleantech sectors while providing competitive returns for investors and customers.

CLEANTECH-EAST provides the opportunity to better understand Atlantic Canada's W5's of cleantech including who "qualifies" to be cleantech, what is "clean technology", where are we "globally", when are "government programs" available, why is cleantech "so important"?

Who Will Be There?
Meet the people who are creating sustainable economic growth and are shaping this region’s cleantech economy (sector, cluster or industry) including businesses, organizations and governments. Attendees are expected from a variety of industry segments including oil & gas, renewable energy, environmental, aerospace, energy efficiency, lighting, buildings, storage systems, fuels, water, waste management, recycling, emissions, and manufacturing.
