LEARNING OBJECTIVES

At the conclusion of the symposium, the participants should be able to:

  1. Apply the principle that physicians’ personal health practices impact those of their patients, and adopt at least one healthy lifestyle practice change
  2. Analyze and apply current research and trends for wellness choices employing a systematic procedure to incorporate techniques into clinical practice to improve wellbeing and health
  3. Employ shared decision making to educate patients to develop and implement a personal action plan based on age, gender, marital status, etc. to increase well-being
  4. Apply current research and trends for food choices and incorporate techniques into personal and clinical practice recommendations to patients
  5. Enhance health care practices and add more therapeutic healing modalities to clinical practice to restore balance and physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and social health
  6. Improve health-related quality of life and well-being for all individuals

ACCREDITATION STATEMENT

Physicians - The Southern California Permanente Medical Group is accredited by the Institute for Medical Quality/California Medical Association (IMQ/CMA) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

CREDIT DESIGNATION STATEMENT

The Southern California Permanente Medical Group designates this live activity for a maximum of 9.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)TM. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

This credit may also be applied to the CMA Certification in Continuing Medical Education.


Nurses and Physician Assistants – Attendees may report up to 9.5 hours toward continuing education requirements for license renewal. ‘CME’ can be written in lieu of the provider number on all licensure renewal applications.


ELW statement:

Upon filing accredited CME Certifications, physicians will be compensated at regular W rate for non- regularly scheduled work hours & educational leave (taken during non-work hours). A W will be paid for each 4 hours of CME accreditation. CME activities of less than 4 hours may be accumulated and will not be paid. In this manner, only 2 Ws per calendar year may be earned and educational Leave W’s will not count towards the regular W count and will not be promoted to premium pay.
