2020 The Permanente National Collaborative Symposium

As COVID-19 continues to have far-reaching impact for our communities and the country, we have decided to cancel the 2020 National Collaborative Symposium, June 24-27. Kaiser Permanente is committed to the health and safety of our members, patients, employees, and physicians, and this action supports continued focus as the pandemic evolves.

We would like to thank the tremendous efforts of the Symposium planning committee and support staff. Thank you for patience, support and understanding.

Welcome

A MESSAGE FROM THE CO-CHAIRS

Colleagues,

It’s time to plan to join friends and colleagues, old and new, from around the country for learning and fun on the beautiful Big Island of Hawaii.

Like our Permanente practice, this is a multi-disciplinary meeting which is expanding again to include General Surgery, GI, Vascular Surgery, Interventional Radiology and, new to the group, Nephrology. The program is designed to include topics of general interest to all, as well as present interesting and complex cases that benefit from a multi-specialty approach.

With so many specialties now involved, we have changed our name to better reflect our participation. We are now the Permanente National Collaborative Symposium. Topics and talks are still procedurally and surgically oriented but not limited to surgical approaches alone.

The focus this year is Physician Leadership and we are excited to kick off our meeting with a panel discussion that will include our Executive Medical Directors sharing their unique insights into physician leadership development.

New this year will be an entire day of wellness activities designed to nurture the soul and take advantage of the beautiful setting of the Fairmont Orchid, perched on one of the most breathtaking beaches on the planet. This will be the day before the conference starts and will require a separate registration available on this website.

Also, the day before will be a day long Peritoneal Dialysis training school that will include lecture, video and hands on practice in surgical techniques.

And not to be forgotten, there will be tours and adventures open to friends and family as well!

There truly IS something for everyone! We hope to see you there!

Your 2020 Planning Committee
