Welcome!
The 2020 Family Violence Prevention symposium addresses violence and trauma across the lifespan – from child abuse to elder abuse.
Our keynote faculty, Laura Mosqueda, MD, Dean of the Keck School of Medicine of USC and a national and international authority on geriatrics and elder abuse, will address the role and responsibility of physicians in addressing inequalities, abuse, and social justice to achieve health and well-being for the patients we serve.
A survivor of family violence will share their perspective as a patient experiencing violence and interacting with the healthcare system.
Jacquelyn Campbell, PhD, RN, domestic violence advocate and professor at the Johns Hopkins School of Nursing who developed The Danger Assessment Tool will teach us about domestic violence homicide and the vital role of lethality assessment.
Breakout sessions with KP CareActors will allow physicians real-time opportunity to practice and improve counseling / communication strategies that they can use with their patients.
We look forward to seeing you in Pasadena.
