WELCOME!
We invite you to join us for this comprehensive, informative, collegial, and practical symposium, designed with your needs in mind. Don’t miss this excellent opportunity to learn, connect, and refresh!
This Symposium is designed for Family Medicine providers to learn practical current ways to improve patient care in a highly collegial atmosphere, and consistently earns high ratings from attendees. The 2020 Symposium promises to continue this tradition, with an agenda structured around Cancer to address risk assessment and collaborative care for breast, gyn, prostate, pulmonary, GI, hematologic, and pediatric cancers, as well as innovations in treatment. The agenda also addresses several other common challenges in Family Medicine, including current approaches to prevention, diagnosis and management of common complaints related to toxicology, acute kidney injury, dermatology, and Urgent Care topics including chest pain/EKG, acute eye conditions, wound care, missed fractures, and acute pediatric conditions, as well as hands-on practice with minor surgical procedures and point of care ultrasound (POCUS).
Highly interactive formats enhance participants’ learning experience, through case-based discussions, polling, tabletop discussions, demonstrations, facilitated discussions about practice barriers, and hands-on simulation practice. This two-day course addresses Family Medicine’s broad scope of practice with 22 topics that address common challenges in clinical care, and includes an opportunity to meet ABFM Maintenance of Certification requirements, as well as opportunities to support resident scholarly work during the poster session.
Several networking opportunities allow participants to meet new colleagues, reconnect with friends from other service areas, and return to practice with renewed confidence and inspiration.
Thank you and we look forward to seeing you there!
