2020 Applied Skills in Ergonomics

Learning Objectives

Learning Objectives:

At the completion of this activity, the learner will be able to:
  • Describe best practices in measuring, analyzing, and interpreting physical exposures in a job
  • Review what we know about exoskeletons, how they might be utilized in the workplace, and what potential negative consequences should be assessed
  • Use a case based approach to demonstrate proficiency in measuring, analyzing, and interpreting physical exposures in a job
  • Use a case based approach to demonstrate proficiency in the design process to mitigate exposures and risk of musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs)
Practice Gap:
This course is meant to help practitioners properly understand and measure task and job level physical exposures in the workplace using the latest technology and research available. Further, this course will teach practitioners how to interpret quantified and predicted exposures in terms of increased risk for MSDs.
