Quality in healthcare is a vital element that concerns patients, providers, and decision makers. It plays a key role in delivering patient care safely and according to best standards. However, this might be challenged due to organizations culture, processes complexities and human factors where inconsistency can impact quality and patient safety! Thus, quality activities and functions have been transformed from being manually tracking patients care delivery to be embedded into automated electronic platforms that enhances efficiency and effectiveness of the provided care.

Moreover, health IT has been evolving significantly and exceeds customers and providers expectations and demand due to its predictive monitoring measures which are powered by the system capability that retrieve, store, alert, and enter clinical information. These processes and functions are automated and feasible to healthcare providers in day to day operations. Eventually, quality functions have been also developed over-time through the use of technology to optimize and sustain patient safety and quality to meet patient requirements. This case study, explores the importance of merging both quality functions along with health IT scope in order to achieve high reliability through active and none voluntary monitoring. It also explores ways for improvements by streamlining the process of performance and outcomes monitoring on regular basis which are based on standardized best practices.
