Getting to SDSC: Directions and Parking

Location: SDSC's Auditorium E-B212 located on the ground floor of SDSC's east entrance, located just off the driveway.

The San Diego International Airport (SAN) is the closest airport to UC San Diego and SDSC.

Driving Directions to SDSC

Take Interstate 5 (I-5).
  • Exit Genesee, turn West off exit. (From the south, turn left. From the north, turn right).  Note: Intersection is currently under a long term construction project.  Please allow extra time.
  • At the top of the hill, turn left at North Torrey Pines Road.
  • At the first light, turn left on Northpoint Drive into UCSD.
  • Follow Northpoint Drive past the campus Information Booth.
  • Continue on Northpoint as it turns right and becomes Hopkins Drive.
  • Turn right on Voigt Drive (South of RIMAC and SDSC).
  • Enter the Hopkins Parking structure at the top of the hill (Level 6).
  • From San Diego International Airport (Lindbergh Field)
From the airport parking lot, take the Harbor Island, Downtown Exit.
  • From San Diego International Airport (Lindbergh Field)
  • Follow Harbor Drive (which leads to downtown San Diego) to Laurel Street (on the left).
  • Follow Laurel to India Street to I-5 North.
  • Signs along the way indicate the turns required to reach I-5.
Parking Options
Full-day permits
  • Green or yellow spaces only
  • Any level in structure
  • Not in white or red spaces
  • Most economical for 4 or more hours
Hourly visitor permit
  • White spaces marked with "V"
  • Top level only (level 7)
Purchase the appropriate parking permit at the machine on that level. Accepts credit card or exact change only. Full-day permit is $16. Read carefully for acceptable parking locations.  Place parking permit face up on your dashboard in full view.

For handicapped spaces
  • Continue east past the Information Booth and follow Hopkins Drive as it turns south.
  • Pass RIMAC Arena complex (first building on right).
  • Turn right into the first driveway (which sits in between RIMAC and SDSC) and go to the top of the hill.
  • SDSC and special parking spaces are on the left 
To drop off in front of SDSC
  • Continue east past the Information Booth and follow Hopkins Drive as it turns south.
  • Pass RIMAC Arena complex (first building on right).
  • SDSC is just beyond RIMAC. Turn right into the driveway in front of SDSC.

SDSC is located just south of the RIMAC Arena.

A taxi or transportation service can be used from the airport.
