On September 17, 2016 and September 24, 2016, conference guests will have the opportunity to take a break and enjoy the amenities of Michigan by taking part in a weekend excursion. Listed below are the options available for trips and activities along with descriptions. Transportation will be provided for these trips. Due to capacity, each guest may only select one trip for one of the dates listed. You may register for these trips during your official conference registration.
Traverse City Wine Tour:
Journey to Traverse City wine country! As you enjoy wine tours throughout Leelanau Peninsula and Old Mission Peninsula, you will be mesmerized by the surround scenic beauty and Lake Michigan shoreline. The views, particularly the sunsets, are what make Traverse City a one-of-a-kind city to visit. Traverse City wineries produce award-winning chardonnay, riesling, pinot grigio, pinot noir, merlot, gewurztraminer, sparkling varieties, and the prestigious dessert ice wines made from winter's frozen grapes, to name a few. Craft breweries, distilleries, and hard apple cider producers are also making a big splash in the area, and make a great addition to wine tours. On this tour you will be transported to the bayside vineyards of Traverse City, where you will be able to partake in wine tasting, cheese and bread sampling, and shopping.
