The Sherwin-Williams Columbus Plant is part of the Paint & Coatings Division. The Paint & Coatings Division is responsible for the manufacture and distribution of all branded and private label products of The Sherwin-Williams Company.
The mission of the Paint & Coatings Division is to strengthen our operations and supply chains around the world, reinforce our commitment to world-class quality, world-class service, and enhance centers of excellence through the exchange of best practices in systems, tools and processes.
WHAT YOU WILL SEE ON THE TOUR: |
This site uses continuous improvement tools such as six sigma methodology and lean manufacturing concepts to drive significant improvement in their focus areas: safety, quality, sustainability including their “green” efforts, and productivity.
Tour attendees will see these concepts while touring the main production floor including the warehouse, shipping, receiving, manufacturing, filling, the quality assurance lab, and regional research & development lab.
The tour will also describe the basic paint making process from raw material gathering through the batch making process, as well as, the packaging and shipping.

PRECLUSION STATEMENT: IndustryWeek may be required to preclude attendees from attending this tour. This step will be taken solely by IndustryWeek at the request of our host plant based upon the proprietary nature of information that is to be presented. The host plants' decisions are final and will be communicated to attendees in advance. Some participants on the tour may be asked to complete a Non Disclosure Agreement (NDA).
SAFETY PRECAUTIONS: Please note the following dress code:
---Safety glasses must be worn and will be provided by the plant.
---Shoes that cover the entire foot must be worn. No sandles or open toed shoes are permitted.
---Cell phones must be completely OFF on the production floor.

Please note that all participants must utilize transportation provided by IndustryWeek. Participants are NOT permitted to drive separately to the facility. There are no exceptions to this policy.
