Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of the symposium, the participants should be able to:

  1. Counsel patients on the risks, safety and benefits of HRT and order prescriptions that will be safe and clinically appropriate for patient to use. *
  2. Expeditiously diagnose acute cardio pulmonary problems in pregnancy and initiate appropriate medical care*
  3. Manage the 2nd stage of labor to minimize maternal and fetal morbidity and reduce the number of un-indicated 2nd stage operative deliveries*
  4. Implement alternative new technologies when screening patients for breast & cervical cancer; employ method optimal for individual patient clc*
  5. Use at least one innovative approach in brief office encounters to motivate behavior change that improves adherence and/or diet/lifestyle. *
Accreditation
Physicians - The Southern California Permanente Medical Group is accredited by the Institute for Medical Quality/California Medical Association (IMQ/CMA) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Nurses and Physician Assistants – Attendees may report up to 13.5 hours toward continuing education requirements for license renewal. ‘CME’ can be written in lieu of the provider number on all licensure renewal applications.
