Maintenance of Certification - Part II Knowledge Self-Assessment (KSA) Module
WHAT TO EXPECT

Benefits of Participation:
Save time, enjoy collegial group learning, and pass the 60 knowledge questions for the American Board of Family Medicine (ABFM) Maintenance of Certification Part II Knowledge Self-Assessment (KSA) Module on Care for the Vulnerable Elderly.

Format:
This session is conducted in an interactive group setting with educational support with active group participation using audience response methods, and discussing expert and peer understanding of current evidence.

The goal is to achieve a common consensus in answering these questions. The group process enhances learning and retention of current medical information. At the end of the session, faculty will input the 60 answers for the whole group.

Note:

  • Before this session: All participants must be current with ABFM fees prior to attending, in order to receive ABFM credit for the KSA.
  • After this session: Participants may go to the ABFM website to confirm they received the KSA 10 MOC points. Care for the Vulnerable Elderly Clinical Simulation is optional for 5 additional points.

Learning Objectives: At the end of this activity, participants should be able to…

  • Examine personal gaps in clinical practice in relative to care for vulnerable elderly.
  • Incorporate at least one change in practice to address personal practice gaps.

Maintenance of Certification Part II credit:
Participants who are enrolled in ABFM’s Maintenance of Certification program can access a copy of the Care for the Vulnerable Elderly module from the ABFM website (www.theabfm.org/moc).
After this session, participants may do the patient simulation online however this is not required. Those who complete the ABFM KSA will receive credit toward ABFM’s Part II requirement for Maintenance of Certification.
