Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of the symposium, the participants should be able to:

  1. Identify and address manageable risk factors of severe Hypoglycemia in Diabetes - Overview (Plenary 1)* and Systems approach (Breakout A3)
  2. Use of motivational interviewing and encouraging changes in diet and exercise options (Plenary 2)*
  3. Use appropriate third line antidiabetic agents for specific diabetic populations (Plenary 3)*
  4. Utilize different digital technologies (remote glucose monitoring, text messaging, flash CGM) to optimize and improve the management of diabetes (Breakout A4)*
  5. Evaluate and manage at risk NAFLD/NASH patients with effective modern therapeutic interventions (Plenary 4)*
  6. Implement appropriate tools and treatment in the evaluation and management of at risk diabetic feet (Breakout A2)*
  7. Use resources from Center for Healthy Living to help patients create strategies to overcome barriers in Diabetes selfcare (Breakout A1)
Accreditation

CLS CEUs (Clinical Laboratory Scientists):  this symposium is approved for 6 CEU's for Laboratory Personnel (CLS, MLT and Phlebotomists).   Program number 01-1804.
