2016 Latin America Legal Summit

Program Overview

Key Transformational Moments in Latin America: A Region in Flux

Akerman is again partnering with ALM to present the fourth annual ALM-Akerman U.S. Latin America Legal Summit. The program is presented exclusively for lawyers based in Latin America, in-house counsel, and senior-level executives of multinational companies doing business in the U.S. and Latin America.

The Latin American region is facing a decline in growth with many countries struggling to reposition their economies. Corporate and individual investors doing business or looking to do business in the region need to stay informed of the legal, political, and economic obstacles, but also be aware of the significant opportunities that exist during these times of transition.

Renowned industry leaders will facilitate interactive discussions focused on the current obstacles and opportunities existing in Latin America, while providing in-depth commentary on several countries in flux, including Argentina, Brazil, Cuba, Mexico, Peru, and Venezuela.

Key topics will include:

- Policy Issues and Challenges for the U.S. in Latin America
- Regulations and Compliance
- Litigation and Arbitration
- International Trade, Customs, and Regulatory Due Diligence in a Merger and Acquisition
- Tête-à-Tête with "Clinton" and "Trump"
- Banking and Finance
