Event Description |
Please join Textile Exchange on June 16 in Hong Kong at this highly informative workshop tailored specifically for suppliers and manufacturers in the Asia region. This workshop will be designed to introduce you to Textile Exchange and familiarize you with who we are and what we do. The focus of the workshop will be on 2 core areas of Textile Exchange’s work: Preferred Fiber & Materials and Standards & Certification. There will also be an additional session focusing specifically on the new Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) and strategies to source RWS certified fiber.
Jeff Wilson, Director – Business Value Strategy & Development, and Evonne Tan, Creative & Analytics Specialist, will be covering the Fiber & Materials portion of the workshop, utilizing Textile Exchange’s learning and decision support tools such as material summaries, snapshots, learning modules, and benchmarking. These TE resources have been designed as easy to use “how-to” tools to better understand and adopt the leading preferred fiber and materials used today in the textile sector: preferred cottons, recycled polyesters, man made cellulosics, down, and wool.
Anne Gillespie, Director of Industry Integrity, will look at the market and risk issues that are driving certification, give an overview of TE standards, and take a deep look at the chain of custody requirements that are the foundation of all TE standards. For companies that are, or will be, working with the Organic Content Standard, the Recycled Claim Standard, the Global Recycled Standard, the Responsible Down Standard, or the Responsible Wool Standard, this will be an important opportunity. Anne will also hold an optional session for companies looking to work with the RWS: she will discuss strategies on creating a sufficient supply of certified wool.
The workshop will take place on June 16, 2016 at Esquel’s Hong Kong facility:
