This modular course is designed for qualified dietitians who are either:

1. Currently enrolled on or wish to enroll on the Masters degree pathway (in conjunction with Plymouth University)

2. Experienced paediatric dietitians looking to update/enhance their scientific knowledge (CPD)

The course will provide attendees with a fantastic opportunity to reflect on current practice and enhance knowledge in the following areas:

• Protein Metabolism e.g. PKU, Tyrosinaemia, MSUD, Homocystinuria
• Organic acidaemias and urea cycle disorders
• Disorders of carbohydrate metabolism e.g. galactosaemia, glycogen storage diseases
• Fatty acid oxidation and disorders of ketogenesis
• Lipid disorderd e.g. Lipoprotein lipase deficiency, abetalipoproteinanemia
• Emergency regimens
• Management of newborn infants
• Education of children with IMD and their families
• Feeding problems in children with metabolic disorders
• Biochemical monitoring of diet

For each day of the course, presentations/workshops will be delivered by senior/specialist paediatric dietitians and consultants in paediatrics; all of whom have a wealth of knowledge and experience to share.
