Entry / Exit Requirements into Dominican Republic
All U.S. citizens traveling by air into Punta Cana are required to present a valid U.S. passport to enter the Dominican Republic. U.S. citizens attempting to travel on a naturalization certificate or expired passport must apply for a valid passport and could experience delays of several weeks before a new passport is issued.  It is strongly recommended that your passport not expire for at least 6 months after your departure. Please visit the respective U.S. Government sites to request a new passport or renew a passport.

You can request expedited service for your passport by mail or apply in person. Generally you will receive your passport in three weeks, or sooner, if you can show an urgent need. Expedited services will cost an additional $60, plus any delivery costs. Please visit the U.S. Government sites for more information on expediting the passport process.

In addition to a valid U.S. passport, all visitors entering the country must have a tourist card. This card will be provided for you and your guest, and will be mailed to the address on your registration 2 weeks prior to your trip.

Security

We want your travel and visit to Punta Cana to remain a safe one. We consider the health and safety of our guests the highest priority. It’s important to be aware of your surroundings while traveling, so please become familiar with the following general health and safety tips during your travel to and from Punta Cana.

At the Airport
Visit the U.S. Government page for travelers for the latest information on security information and what items you can/cannot bring on the plane or in checked baggage.
  • Attach the STARZ luggage tag to your checked luggage.  You will receive this via mail prior to departure for Punta Cana.
  • Tape a business card or personal identifier to the inside of your luggage in case your luggage tags are separated from your bags and do not pack any items of value in checked luggage.
  • Remember to pack your personal credit cards, passport, medical insurance cards, medications and cash in your carry-on bag.
  • Wear shoes that are easy to take on and off during security screening.
  • Avoid excessive jewelry and metal accessories while traveling.
  • A transportation representative provided by STARZ will be visible in the baggage claim area holding a sign with the STARZ logo. They will provide ground transportation to and from Paradisus Punta Cana Resort, so do not accept help, directions or transportation from anyone else.
Medical Assistance
Tap water should be avoided unless it has been boiled. This means that it is safe to use for teas and coffees. You may brush your teeth in unboiled tap water, but if you have a sensitive stomach it is not advisable. Bottled water is recommended.
