Jay Abiona

In 1994, Jay began conducting security consultations, private/criminal investigations and personal protection in the New York City market. He relocated to Houston and has been a licensed private investigator with the Texas Department of Public Safety, Private Security Board since March 2009. In 2011 he founded and became the CEO of Credible Security Solutions, Inc., a security consultation, private investigation and personal protection agency that provides professional security officers throughout the State of Texas.

Jay has conducted countless thorough internal theft investigations and has completed well over 5,000 interviews/interrogations in his career as an investigator with an unprecedented success rate in obtained admissions. He has also conducted numerous job interviews for corporations to assist within the hiring of ethical candidates for sensitive positions. 
 
Linus Akanoh Jr.

Linus is a Senior Manager in Deloitte’s Strategic Risk Advisory practice with more than 8 years of diversified professional services experience in the areas of crisis recovery, finance transformation, grants management and strategic risk advisory. He advises clients in the development and implementation of sustainable recovery solutions in response to crisis events. He facilitates the visioning and execution of transformations in the governance, people, process and technology components of client organizations to help address reputational, financial, operational, regulatory, and IT risks. Additionally, he helps client teams and executives tackle tough business challenges through immersive, facilitated Lab experiences and client experience IP such as Business Chemistry and the CFO Transition Lab.

Linus is an adjunct faculty at the Bill Munday School of Business at St. Edward’s University in Austin, TX where he delivers instruction in accounting information systems. Linus leverages his professional experience and interactive case studies to provide undergraduate students with practical understanding of accounting information system theories and concepts.

Linus holds a Master of Professional Accounting degree from the University of Texas at Austin as well as a B.A. in Computer Information Technology and a B.B.A. in Accounting from St. Edward’s University. He is a CIA, CISA, Certified Grants Management Specialist and has also received the Certification in Risk Management Assurance. He serves on the Academic Relations Committee of the Austin IIA Chapter and is a frequent speaker on crisis recovery, grants management, accounting information technology and internal control related topics at universities, professional conferences and seminars.
 
Margie Bastolla

Margie is Principal with Margie Bastolla Facilitations, LLC. She provides customized, onsite training for internal auditors around the world. Margie has taught in over 40 countries for corporations, governments, UN agencies, and IIA chapters and institutes.

Previously, she was an executive at The IIA Headquarters in Altamonte Springs, Florida and an auditor with Worthen Banking Corporation and Deloitte in Little Rock, Arkansas.
 
Ragini Basu

Ragini is a Principal with Deloitte’s Strategic Risk-Crisis Management Practice. With over fifteen years of experience, she specializes in Grants Management, especially Disaster related grants. She helps lead the Crisis Recovery Practice where she serves Deloitte’s largest disaster recovery clients which include projects in Texas, Louisiana, and Colorado. Ragini has been involved in helping her clients recover from multi-billion dollar natural disasters and has successfully led and managed several disaster recovery projects across the nation. She has demonstrated capabilities to help organizations quickly set up and effectively administer large and complex federal programs requiring immediate distribution of funds and monitoring and reporting of program activities in accordance with federal program regulations. She has significant experience in FEMA’s Public Assistance and Hazard Mitigation Programs and helps clients respond and recover from large scale disasters and build resiliency into their organizations.

Philip is a Sr. Manager in LyondellBasell’s Internal Audit Group. He manages the Data Analytics team, which focuses on contract recovery, event monitoring, compliance assistance and management requests. Philip joined the company in February 2010. Prior work experience includes internal auditor and procurement analyst roles for ChevronPhillips Chemical Company and as an audit consultant for oil field service clients. Philip possesses a BA from Spring Hill College and MBA from LSU and holds CIA, CISA & CRMA certifications.
 
Mike Fucilli

Mike is the CAE for a large Public Sector company with Revenues in excess of $15 billion and has a staff of 85 professionals. Mike has over 35 years of internal auditing experience that includes Financial Services, Public Sector, Inventory Management, Technology and SOX Reporting. He is on The IIA’s Research Foundation Board of Directors and was recently on The IIA North American Board and Global Board. Mike is a passionate and energetic speaker, having spoken at the last two IIA International Conferences in London and Vancouver. He is also an Adjunct Professor for Pace University where he teaches the IIA Learning System for the CIA Exam. He is a CIA, QIAL, CRMA, CGAP and CFE.

Keith is the IT Internal Audit Manager at Phillips 66. He graduated in 1982 from Oklahoma Christian University with a bachelor’s in Computer Science and joined Conoco that spring working in the Information Technology group. Over the years as the company changed in size and names (now Phillips 66), he was able to work in various technology areas in the US and internationally. Through those experiences he gained an appreciation for security, compliance and risk. In 2014, after several years of being responsible for Identity Management and access compliance processes, he joined Internal Audit to lead the IT Audit function.   
 
Larry Harrington

Larry Harrington, Chairman of The IIA Global Board and CAE for Raytheon Company

Larry Harrington is the CAE for Raytheon Company, which specializes in defense, civil government, and cybersecurity markets throughout the world. Prior to joining Raytheon in 2004, he led the internal audit function for several Fortune 100 companies, where he also served in other areas, including finance, human resources, and operations. Committed to corporate diversity, Larry has been a member of Raytheon’s Executive Diversity Leadership Team since 2010, guiding the company’s strategy to advance its culture of diversity and inclusion. Further, he was a key driver in the development of a diversity strategy for The IIA during his service on the North American Board of Directors.

Over the last 25 years, Larry has held numerous leadership roles with The IIA such as on the Global Board of Directors since 2009, as senior vice chairman of the Board, and as vice chairman of both the Professional Guidance and the Global Services Committees, past chairman of the North American Board of Directors and the Professional Issues Committee, and past president of The IIA’s Greater Boston Chapter. Larry earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Bentley University, and has completed Harvard’s Advanced Management Program. He has continually invested in himself by achieving professional certifications to grow his internal audit competencies and learn about the business functions within the scope of his internal audit responsibilities.

For his term as The IIA’s global chairman, Larry chose the theme, “Invest in Yourself.” He has spoken to numerous audiences of internal auditors urging them to enhance their value by undertaking professional development opportunities. From reading topical and timely material, to adding professional certifications, to attending conferences and workshops in internal auditing and on the business functions they audit, internal auditors can improve their own professional skills and opportunities and better serve their organizations and stakeholders.
 
Pauline Higgins

Pauline, both a CPA and an attorney, is Managing Partner and Chief Diversity Officer at Pauline E. Higgins & Associates, PC in Houston. Her practice includes legal and compliance, ethics, arbitration, mediation, and executive coaching, and labor and employment and commercial matters. Prior to establishing the Firm, she served as SVP, General Counsel, Corporate Secretary, and Chief Administration Officer for The Metropolitan Transit Authority and also was the first Senior Partner and Chief Diversity Officer hired by law firm Thompson & Knight LLP, and she is the former VP, Associate General Counsel, and Assistant Corporate Secretary for JPMorgan Chase & Co. Ms. Higgins held a number of key positions with several Texas corporations, and served as Chief of Staff and Counsel for U.S. Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee. Ms. Higgins earned an LL.M degree in Taxation, a Juris Doctor degree (Tulane School of Law), and a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting (Louisiana State University). 
 
E.J. Hilbert

E.J. is a Director with PwC's Cybersecurity and Privacy practice based in San Francisco. E.J. has over two decades of experience in the Cybersecurity and Privacy arena. Prior to joining PwC, E.J. led Kroll's Cybersecurity Practice for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, founded and served as the President of Online Intelligence LLC, was Director of Security Enforcement for MySpace.com/Fox Interactive Media and also spent 8 years as a Special Agent for FBI where he was the lead case agent for numerous cybercrime, white collar and counterterrorism investigations. E.J. led one of the FBI’s largest cybercrime investigations addressing the computer intrusion, theft of data and extortion of over 600 financial institutions. He also served as an online undercover agent using social media sites, chat rooms and forums to identify hackers and gain intelligence regarding attacks against US corporations, the government and individual persons. E.J.'s final FBI case was bringing treason charges against the American Al Qaeda member, Adam Gadahn. He is a CISSP.
 
Michael Kano

Michael is a Senior Manager with Sunera’s national Data Analytics practice. He has 20 years of experience in data analytics and internal audit with organizations in the US, Canada, and Kuwait. He has worked with ACL software for over 20 years, including 8 years as the leader of ACL Services Ltd.’s global training team. Michael also has 7 years of experience with Arbutus Software, and has managed the transition to Arbutus from other data analysis tools. He is a proficient user of Tableau, Microsoft Access, and Teradata SQL Assistant. Prior to joining Sunera, Michael worked with eBay, Inc.’s Internal Audit team as the Manager of Audit Analysis where he integrated data analytics into the audit workflow on strategic and tactical levels. Michael earned a MBA from the University of California, Los Angeles and is an ACL Certified Data Analyst (ACDA).

She has more than 17 years of consulting experience in information technology, eDiscovery and computer forensics with a focus on the Oil and Gas, Chemicals, and Health Care sectors. She has an MBA from the University of Florida and is a Chartered Accountant. Priya has substantial experience leading and coordinating eDiscovery engagements and providing consulting on the use of technology assisted review. Prior to joining KPMG, Priya founded and ran a successful company that provided services to the legal industry including many Fortune 100 corporations and law firms.

He has over 30 years of industry experience, including a strong technical background, business process experience, and nearly 20 years of complex litigation experience. He is an AV rated attorney admitted to practice in Arizona and Virginia and holds a J.D., Magna Cum Laude & Order of the Coif from the University of Michigan Law School. He has worked with clients and their law firms to facilitate and improve information management and discovery response capabilities, including the development of internal and external business and legal processes.

Theresa is one of America's most respected authorities on Internet security, net crime, fraud mitigation, and technology implementation. As White House Chief Information Officer from 2006 to 2008, the first woman ever to hold that position, she administered the information technology enterprise for the President and 3,000 staff members.

Prior to working in federal government, Theresa held executive roles in banking technology. As founder of Fortalice Solutions, LLC, a cybersecurity consulting company, she now lends her expertise to organizations, helping them improve their information technology systems against emerging, amorphous cyber threats.

In 2010, she was named by Security Magazine as one of the top 25 "Most Influential People in Security" and was recently named a William J. Clinton Distinguished Lecturer for the Clinton School of Public Service. Theresa has a fascinating view of the world of cybersecurity, including insight and methods critical to protecting organizations and information from rapidly evolving cyber-attacks.

Paul is a Director for Protiviti’s Houston office. Since 1999, he has been involved in providing consulting and internal audit services within technical areas of organizations, including engineering, procurement and construction. Paul is the national leader of Protiviti’s Capital Projects Consulting practice.

Paul also worked for over nine years in the Engineering, Procurement and Construction industry with a Leading EPC Contractor. He holds Masters degrees in Business and Environmental Management as well as a Bachelors degree in Civil/Mechanical Engineering Technology from the University of Houston. He holds designations of a Project Management Professional, Certified Construction Auditor, CIA, CCRMA and Professional EH&S Auditor. Paul currently serves as an IIA District Advisor (South Region) representing almost two dozen chapters across ten states.

Jay holds a Bachelors of Science in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin. He is a CIA, CCSA, CFE and Certified Investment and Derivatives Auditor and has also authored an article for the IIA titled “Auditor or Adviser”.

Andrew is a Senior Manager in EY’s Fraud Investigation & Dispute Services practice. Andy leads compliance risk and program assessments for companies in numerous industries, focusing on compliance strategy and organizational structure. He helps to design and implement anti-corruption programs, and draft anti-corruption manuals and training materials. Andy has served as chief compliance officer of a global services company, developing a comprehensive compliance and ethics program and handling internal investigations. Andy also previously served as general counsel of the global distribution and logistics business of a leading company, responsible for all legal issues and compliance, while participating as a member of the management team. He has developed risk management strategies and built a comprehensive compliance program incorporating best practices. Andy is a member of the New York Bar, and holds a B.S. in Industrial & Labor Relations from Cornell University and a J.D. from New York University, where he was Articles Editor of the Journal of International Law & Politics.

 
Kay Sallee

Kay has been the Chief Information Officer for Phillips 66 since May 2012. She has more than 30 years of information technology experience in the oil and gas industry. Before Phillips 66 she held management roles for ConocoPhillips since the merger of Conoco and Phillips in 2002. Sallee joined Phillips Petroleum Company in 1981 as senior analyst/programmer. Sallee currently serves on the OK Mozart Board of Directors, the Salvation Army Executive Board, the Salvation Army Advisory Board and the Elder Care Board of Directors. She received a marketing degree from the Oklahoma Baptist University in 1980.
 
David Searle

David is the Chief Compliance Officer and Associate General Counsel of Bristow Group Inc., the world’s leading provider of offshore energy aviation services. He is responsible for overseeing the company’s compliance with laws related to export controls, anti-corruption, and fair competition. David previously served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney in the US Attorney’s Houston office where he prosecuted corporate fraud and international money laundering cases. He was a member of the Organized Crime Strike Force and received multiple awards from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security for convictions obtained against human traffickers. He began his career as a trial lawyer with Baker Botts LLP after serving as a law clerk to the Honorable Jerry E. Smith of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit. David received his law degree from Duke University School of Law and holds an undergraduate degree in Economics from Stanford University.
