De-risking new international air services: Future-proofing the new capacity
Airports in Australia/New Zealand have enjoyed stellar growth in international air services over the past two years, and more carriers are on the horizon. Air services incentives can help attract new airlines, but getting the marketing right is the tricky part.
- Tourism bodies have ever-shrinking budgets and divided loyalties – so do airports have to reach further down the value chain to ensure new air services stick?
- Will the dominant carriers with the best marketing come to marginalise the smaller ones?
- For airports with scarce slots/capacity, how to decide which carriers/routes to focus on?
- Will we see airlines heading for the exits when fuel prices go back up?
- Do foreign airlines have the right structure for sales AND marketing?
Moderator: Cameron Aviation Management, Director, Cam Macphee
- Aviation and Tourism Marketing specialist, Peter Hoslin
- Brisbane Airport, Aviation Business Development Manager, Ben James

What do passengers want? The strategy behind the passenger experience
- Is Premium economy defining the new upside for business travellers?
- Are airlines getting the investment priorities right? Is the inflight investment too focused on hard rather than soft products?
- Is ‘J’ the new ‘F’. The divide is rapidly growing between the product ‘have’ and ‘have-nots’.
- Inflight Entertainment & Connectivity: How much does it matter, what are passengers (and corporates) willing to pay for it?
- The airport experience is often a pain point, but could increased use of technology (such as iBeacons) help guide pax through the airport experience and remove the stress?
- Disruption! Retrieving a situation when things go wrong can often be far more powerful than a seamless experience. What’s the latest technology for disruptions and can further gains be made?
Moderator: Airline Passenger Experience Association (APEX), CEO, Joe Leader

- Embraer, Senior Airline Marketing Manager, Adam Young
