Southeast Leadership Conference


The scholarships for this program have been filled.  We are accepting additional registrations at the full conference cost.


 

Description: A Three day training program for Boys & Girls Club Directors who have less than two-years of experience. You must commit to attending the entire program. (Beginning Tuesday, March 8th at 8:00 A.M and concluding Thursday, March 10th at 5:30.) You are invited to stay for the closing dinner Thursday evening, 6:00-8:30.

ALW Club Directors Institute fee $125 (accepted participants will be given a $200 discount on the $325 registration fee and the scholarship covers lodging based on double occupancy.  You will be assigned a roommate from the CDI list of attendees if you are awarded the scholarship to attend).

Goal: Provide Boys & Girls Club Management Professionals with tools, strategies, techniques and resources to support the development of skills and competencies related to the Club Director’s managerial roles and responsibilities.

 

Program Topics and Learning Objectives

·         Your role as a Club Director

o   Define your role as a Club Director and examine primary responsibilities

·         Managing the Outcome Driven Club Experience

o   Create a continuous quality improvement process to implement an  Outcome-Driven Club Experience and set goals to increase average daily attendance

·         Managing the Outcome Driven Measurement Strategy

o   Develop a detailed plan of how to strategically measure your Club’s impact on members

·         Teen Strategy

o   Create a plan to increase the impact your Club program has on teens

·         Child Safety and Protection:

o   Examine the best safety and risk management principles to keep members emotional and physical safe

·         Basics of Human Resource Management

o   Recognize the best practices of interviewing, selection, coaching, counseling, discipline,  FLSA and performance planning

·         Partnership Development: Enhancing your Club Program 

o   Identify the process of developing partnerships and a volunteer strategy that will enhance your overall Club program

·         Professional Development

o   Examine your professional  goals and aspirations

·         Transfer of Learning

o   Develop an implementation plan based on the discovery of new knowledge and skills
