Stantec Consulting Limited Sheila has been involved in the green building industry for over 20 years. She is a member of the Canada Green Building Council’s LEED Technical Advisory Group, and the CaGBC Faculty. She and her team have been involved in many projects that that have utilized many forms of alternative energy form either on-site of off-site sources. |

Claude Cormier, P.Eng, LEED AP Roy Consultants Claude is a project and design engineer with 28 years experience in mechanical and electrical systems. He graduated in 1982 at l'école Polytechnique, University of Montréal in mechanical engineering specializing in HVAC and building systems. He is considered a HVAC specialist and has a special interest in renewable energy systems such as geothermal heating systems and solar as well as traditional HVAC systems. |

Allan Crandlemire Interim CEO, Efficiency Nova Scotia Allan Crandlemire was recently appointed interim CEO of Efficiency Nova Scotia Corporation. Previously he was executive director for Conserve Nova Scotia, the provincial government’s energy efficiency agency, after extensive experience with the Nova Scotia Department of Energy. Efficiency Nova Scotia is an independent corporation, initially focused on managing electricity efficiency in the province, but may also administer efficiency programs for other energy sources. The electricity efficiency plan and programs are regulated by the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board. |

Chuck Faulkner Manager, Commercial & Industrial Programs, Conservation & Energy Efficiency Nova Scotia Power Chuck Faulkner, P.Eng. has managed the commercial and industrial energy efficiency programs at Nova Scotia Power for the last two years. Since 2008, with the help of these programs, Nova Scotians have saved more than 85 million kilowatt hours – enough to power more than 9,500 homes. |

Susan Fitzgerald Partner Fowler, Bauld & Mitchell Susan is a partner with Fowler Bauld & Mitchell Ltd. Originally from England she is both a registered architect and interior designer. She has been design and principal architect in many projects at FBM including several schools, institutional buildings, office buildings and health care facilities. Susan began her architectural career in Vancouver working for Arthur Erickson. She has a keen interest and knowledge of sustainable design and building practices which remains a strong influence in her approach to design strategy. Susan also teaches professional practice and design studios at Dalhousie University's Faculty of Architecture. |

Philipp Marktl, CSO Wood4heaing Inc. is a long standing entrepreneur in the worldwide lumber and biomass trade business and holds a forest degree from Univ. of Vienna. He runs an own Austrian based energy consulting company and was involved in several Canadian biomass companies like Canada Pellets Inc of Newfoundland and Enligna Canada Inc, Nova Scotia. He is Co-founder of US-based Wood4heating Inc together with two European partners to provide full package biomass contract heat solutions to the market with no upfront investment for the heat customers. |

Christopher Marryatt Special Projects Sales Atlantica Mechanical Contractors Christopher graduated in 1977 from NSCC with a diploma in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning. He is a Power Engineer and completed six Sigma training in 1999. He has worked for many years with Honeywell , Direct Energy and Tyco International and is currently employed with Atlantica Mechanical Contractors. He is experienced in the installation and maintenance of large heating and cooling plants as well as involved in the design and selection process of HVAC and life safety systems. |

Dr. Jim Retallack President & CEO AMG Energy Inc. Acadia Management Group Inc. and its energy management subsidiary AMG Energy are led by President and CEO Dr. Jim Retallack. A professional engineer, Dr. Retallack has over three decades of experience in technology driven business and commercialization activities. Following twelve years with Nortel in positions progressing from product research and development through to project management, manufacturing and general management, Dr. Retallack established Acadia Management Group Pty. Ltd. in Sydney, Australia in 1992 to pursue commercialization of technologies and concepts on behalf of their originators. Results included the first overseas sales of software originally developed for an Australian operating company and the first sales by a large US based software developer in the Australian telecommunications market. Returning to Kings County, Nova Scotia in 2000, Dr. Retallack continued commercialization activities, commencing work on energy management and resource optimization in 2005. |

Katherine Retallack Manager, Demand Side Management Programs AMG Energy Inc. Katherine joined AMG Energy in 2007 as a remote researcher while on a two year travelling and teaching trip in Asia, providing information on business development prospects for Residential and Commercial Load Control on a contract basis. Returning to Nova Scotia in early 2008, Katherine joined the company full-time in mid-January 2008 as a data analyst, researcher and program manager. Katherine progressed to the role of Manager of Demand Side Management Programs a year later and manages all aspects of energy conservation projects from customer engagement to implementation and measurement and verification. Katherine focuses on optimization of lighting systems through retrofits and installation of sensor and automation technology and is currently working with several commercial and industrial customers to realize significant energy and cost savings opportunities. |

Dale Robertson, P.Eng. President & CEO Enerscan Consultants Ltd. Dale Robertson became a Professional Engineer in 1980 and a Certified Management Consultant in 1992. He has worked in the field of energy management for almost 30 years. Through his consulting firm, Enerscan Consultants Ltd., he has overseen energy audits on thousands of facilities including manufacturing, multiple unit residential, commercial, industrial, primary industry, institutional and all other forms of facilities. His work in policy for Canada’s north, Africa and selected Canadian areas has also contributed to the advancement of energy management on a global scale. Mr. Robertson has trained over 2500 people in a variety of technical, managerial and inspirational courses in energy management. Dale has a lifelong addiction to sports and is an avid volunteer in many areas. He is currently the President of Engineers Nova Scotia, which provides leadership for the 5200 professional engineers in Nova Scotia. |

Keith Robertson, M. Arch., NSAA, LEED Accredited Solterre Design Keith Robertson is a registered architect that has been involved in the construction industry since 1981. Keith has several years of institutional and commercial experience as an architectural technologist before continuing his education with a Master of Architecture degree. Keith’s passion for environmental design issues goes back more than twenty years. He was the first professional in Nova Scotia to acquire professional accreditation for the LEED® Green Building Rating System. He is a member of the Technical Advisory Group to the Canada Green Building Council, and was on the founding Board of the Atlantic Chapter of the CaGBC. Keith has presented to numerous organizations regarding sustainable design and LEED since 1996. He is a founder and President of Solterre Design. Solterre has been involved in all five LEED projects certified in Nova Scotia to date. |

Dan has enjoyed considerable success since joining the Scotian WindFields Inc management team in early 2008. He was on board for the successful 30MW Digby project bid with NS Power, as well as the three Distribution Projects (6MW total) awarded in 2010. In addition, he has led initiatives in residential and commercial solar and wind energy projects. Dan continues to build on success, as he leads the team in innovative deployment of mixed renewables, community energy initiatives, advocacy outreach, and more utility-scale bids within the province and in export markets. Dan offers credentials in structural engineering from the University of Waterloo, is on the Board of Solar Nova Scotia, is a founding member of the Nova Scotia Sustainable Electricity Alliance (novaSEA) and works on the Wind Energy Education Committee of the NS Department of Energy. |

Rohit Seth, MBA, B.Sc. Business Development Specialist Heritage Gas Rohit Seth is a Business Development Specialist with Heritage Gas, whose main responsibility is the implementation of marketing and business strategies aimed at increasing market penetration and company profitability. His focus is on developing business initiatives, managing stakeholder relations and conveying the value proposition of natural gas to all residents of NS. A born and raised Haligonian and graduate of Dalhousie University, Rohit has obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry and an MBA with a concentration in both marketing and finance. Throughout his career, Rohit’s endeavors have taken him from Copenhagen to Calgary and most recently back to Halifax, where he has joined Heritage Gas after working for their parent company, AltaGas Ltd. |

John Simon Mr Simon is a seasoned professional operating in both multinational organizations and start-up businesses. Past executive assignments have included selling and establishing business development teams for technology solutions in Europe, establishing a remote development software business in North America, and consulting to businesses in a wide number of sectors including telecommunications, energy, government, logistics, and financials services. John holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from St. Francis Xavier University and a Master of Business Administration with a concentration in International Business and Information Technology from Dalhousie University. In his spare time John has consulted to the Falls Brook Centre for the creation of a white paper on renewable energy cooperatives and to the Conservation Council of New Brunswick in the development of an energy paper for the province. John and his family live in solar powered home which includes a hobby farm where he raises his own food. |

Scott Smith Sales & Marketing Manager Shaw Resources Scott Smith joined the Shaw Group Limited in 1979 as their Forestry Supervisor and over the past 32 years, has held a number of management positions including responsibility for aggregate, cat litter and wood pellets businesses as well as divisional and corporate environmental and resources management roles. He is currently Sales & Marketing Manager for Shaw Resources, Corporate Environmental Co-ordinator and is responsible for feed stocks for Shaw’s Nova Scotia pellet operations. He is currently on the Board of Directors of the Pellet Fuels Institute and Co-Chairs the PFI Standards Committee. |

Daron Thomas, Daron Thomas has been an integral part of the heating industry in Atlantic Canada since 1990’s. The family business, started by Gordon Thomas in 1968, has been involved in most public, commercial, and high end residential projects across Atlantic Canada. After attending a 2 year Mechanical Engineering Technology Course in Moncton, he started at the family business, Thomas Industrial Sales Ltd. Daron is now the president of Thomas Industrial Sales., a manufacturer's representative company that provides training to the skilled trades, represents a wide range of heating and comfort products, and provides service and support to the industry. Daron lives with his family in New Maryland, New Brunswick. |

Roy Watts President Advanced Control Systems Roy Watts has over 30 years experience in Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, Air Source Heat Pumps and Geothermal Heat Pump Sales, Service, Design, and Installation. He was with the Canadian Coast Guard as Diesel Mechanic where he studied Marine Refrigeration Technology for three years. Additional certifications include Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Apprenticeship Training with NBCC St. Andrews; a Trade Journeyman Certificate in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning; and a Teaching Certificate from the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton. Roy also instructed students at NBCC St. Andrews in the discipline of Refrigeration, Air Conditioning and Heat Pumps. |
