Activities During your stay, you and your guest may play a round of golf, select one spa service per person or participate in a tour to Xel-Ha (children may participate in the Xel-Ha Tour). Golf will take place on the morning of March 15 at the Grand Coral Golf Course. The Xel-Ha Tour will be on March 16. You may select a spa service at any time during your stay, subject to availability.  SPA SERVICE If golf is not your game, pamper yourself in the Grand Velas Riviera Maya Spa. Named in 2010 by Virtuoso as the “Best Spa in the World,” you are encouraged to awaken your spirit in this calming sanctuary, built in harmony with the natural jungle. The Spa at Grand Velas features 40 treatment suites with beautiful native artwork and separate hydrotherapy facilities for men and women.
You may choose any of the following 50-minute services: Therapeutic Velas Maya Massage Relaxation from head to toe. This special technique integrates different massages, from relaxing to toning. In each session the massage is created according to the wishes and necessities of the guest, in order to provide the exact treatment desired. Various types of manipulations are incorporated, aromatherapy and different massage oils, depending on the unique preference and needs of each guest. This technique aids in the relief of pain and stress. A smooth body exfoliation, enveloping you in a caress of crystallized honey that melts on your skin. Followed by a massage which helps the skin recover its luminosity. A treatment focused on the Marma points, from traditional foot reflexology, that stimulates internal organs and reflexive points of the head, neck, shoulders, face and feet. In the ayurvedic philosophy this effective equalizing treatment is recommended to improve the health and harmonize extreme levels of stress and fatigue.  Xel-Ha Tour On March 16, Autotask will visit the beautiful aquatic park, Xel-Ha. Pronounced “Shell-HA,” it is considered to be the largest natural aquarium in the world and a great place for water sports and exploring the Riviera Maya’s sea life. If you love nature, there is no better place to explore. Snorkeling equipment and towels will be provided, including the use of the showers and dressing room facilities. The tour will depart at 9:00am and return to the hotel at 3:00pm. For those who wish to stop at Playa del Carmen on the way back to go shopping, you may be dropped off there. It will only be a short ten to fifteen minute taxi ride ($20 to $22) for you to get back to the resort. Children may participate in this tour.  Other Activities Grand Velas offers other free outdoor activities, including kayaks and pedal boats, snorkeling and bicycle tours, beach volleyball, water polo, ping-pong, bocce ball, mixology classes, basketball, flag football, darts, treasure hunts, arts and crafts, and sand castle building. You may make arrangements for these activities upon arrival at the resort. You can also rent catamarans and boats or enjoy scuba diving lessons and fishing trips. You can discover the culture of the Riviera Maya with tours to the Mayan jungle and ruins, trips to natural parks, horseback riding and ATV excursions, as well as dolphin swimming adventures.  Grand Velas Kids Club Parents may bask in the sun, worry-free, as their kids enjoy the vacation of a lifetime at the Kid's Club. The Grand Velas Kids Club is an innovative program where children play and create memories through fun activities in a supervised environment. Children 5 to 12 years old can enjoy movies, storytelling, arts and crafts, board games and Bingo. Kids learn how to make pinatas, kites, visors, masks and jewelry and can find amusement in the video area with a theater, X-Box and Wii gaming systems and video game tournaments. Daily activities are flexible to your children’s age and desires. The Kids Club is open every day from 9:00am to 11:00pm and is included in your all-inclusive resort package. T-shirts, photo frames and ceramics are provided. Service beyond 11:05pm is charged as babysitting services (see below). Baby Concierge The resort’s personalized services now extend to the youngest members of the family. To help create the most comfortable family experience possible, the resort’s skilled Baby Concierge provides families with all the basic comforts of home, helping keep babies happy and allowing parents to relax. Items provided include: • Baby bottle sterilizer Services are offered at no additional charge and are available in the Ambassador lobby, subject to availability. For requests prior to arrival, please contact the Pre-Arrival Concierge at conciergerm@grandvelas.com. Babysitting Services The cost for babysitting services for one child is $18.00 per hour with a minimum of 3 hours. For every additional child, there will be a $5.00 per hour additional charge. A second babysitter will be required for over three children. The baby sitter can baby sit for only one family per room. Payment should be made directly to the sitter or charges may be applied to the room account folio. Under no circumstances may deals be made with the baby sitter over the charges. Baby sitters are under no obligation to clean the room and are under no circumstances allowed to leave the property during sitting hours. Cancellation policy: within 6 hrs. prior to service or the service will be charged in full. Room Costs If you require an additional room, the rate will be $850.00 double occupancy ($425.00 per person) per night or $600.00 single occupancy per night, all-inclusive of tax and service. There will be a $35.00 airline ticketing fee per child. For those children who are confirmed within the group block of seats on USAirways or KLM/Delta, payment for the airline tickets and ticketing fees shall be paid directly to Autotask. Details will be provided at the time of ticketing. For those children who are confirmed outside of the group block of seats, payment shall be made by credit card at the time the airline tickets are issued. Children's expenses, such as airline transportation within the group block of seats on US Airways or KLM/Delta, should be paid directly to Autotask by check, credit card or wire transfer by February 15.
