2016 ACS State Conference

Strength in Numbers

It is with great pleasure that we invite you to attend 2016 ACS State Conference.
ACS has secured a new and exciting venue for the Conference. We are pleased to announce it will be held at Doltone House, Darling Island Wharf, a spectacular waterfront venue on the foreshore of Sydney Harbour, with views of the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge and magical city skyline.

The Conference provides a wonderful opportunity to network with other likeminded, passionate and committed people working across the aged care sector.

The theme of our conference is ‘Strength in Numbers’. This reflects the power we have when we work together; the size of the not-for-profit aged care sector; and the impact possible when decisions are informed by data and evidence.

The Conference program covers a wide range of topics that underpin the contemporary aged care sector, designed to inform you with solutions to the difficult issues that we know you have been dealing with along the way. ACS is providing you with a program that will support you in facing current and future challenges, aiming to broaden your view on the possibilities the future may hold in the Industry. Along with other experts, we’ve invited some senior public servants along to help provide you with the latest industry updates.

We hope to inspire you with people like Dr Stephen Lundin our keynote speaker, who has written a number of books on how to boost morale and productivity in the workplace. He will provide an opportunity to learn how the FISH philosophy can energise your workplace so that staff and clients enjoy their experiences. Dr Lundin will be hosting a special pre-conference workshop on applying the FISH model to the Aged Care industry. Those principles are at the core of consumer driven care and can boost client satisfaction and consumer loyalty. Be quick to register as places are strictly limited.

ACS will also be hosting an interactive panel that is aimed to challenge your views on Consumer Choice & Control versus Providers Duty of Care and is a must see for anyone working in this sector. Again and again there is a tension for Providers between a client’s right to choice and to take risks and the Provider’s legal responsibilities and duty of care. Our expert panelists will explore the complexities of this fraught issue.

The Conference will offer a number of new and engaging networking opportunities.

The Conference will be of interest to primarily high-level industry executives including Chief Executive Officers, Chief Operating Officers, Chief Financial Officers, Board Directors, Directors of Nursing and Facility Managers.

We look forward to welcoming you to the Conference.
