Howard Altschule

Howard Altschule is a Certified Consulting Meteorologist (CCM) and the President of Forensic Weather Consultants, LLC, a New York-based weather expert firm that provides accurate, reliable and site-specific weather information and opinions for claims, litigations and climate studies around the country. Howard has testified in court more than 70 times and has consulted on thousands of cases ranging from hurricane wind v. water claims to hail damage losses, slip and fall cases, boat accidents and MVA’s. He has appeared on “The Today Show”, MSNBC, NBC, Fox, Fox Business News, Court TV, CNN and in numerous other types of media. Howard was appointed by the Governor of New York to serve on the Panel on Homeowners Insurance Coverage and holds the prestigious American Meteorological Society “CCM” designation and “Seal of Approval.” Howard oversees a staff of meteorologists and is regularly working on products and services to serve the insurance and legal industry. Howard Altschule has been a volunteer firefighter for over 23 years and is currently a part-time Deputy Emergency Manager with the Sheriff’s Office.

Rusty Amarante, CR

Steven Badger

Steve represents the commercial property insurance industry in coverage and subrogation litigation arising from significant catastrophe events. Most recently, Steve led the $5 billion subrogation action arising from the 911 Terrorist Attack, which resulted in the largest subrogation recovery ever obtained by the insurance industry . Today, Steve’s practice is devoted entirely to leading the industry response to the emerging hail risk, not only representing his clients in the onslaught of lawsuits but also working to find long-term solutions to the crisis through preferred claims practices, policy form changes, and legislation. Mike Batchelor
Director, Claims Solutions Development

Mike Batchelor Is Director, Claims Solutions Development, and is responsible for managing product development for IAA’s Total Loss Solutions suite of services. The total loss claims process has become a more important success factor for IAA’s property and casualty carrier clients, as well as a primary influencer of customer satisfaction and retention. Mike is focused on creating services that improve vehicle owner experiences and reduce the claims costs for IAA’s insurance customers.

Prior to this role, Mike has served as Operations Director for IAA’s title management services where the volume of IAA transactions multiplied by more than 17 times in eight years. He has been with IAA for the past 13 years.

He is a graduate of Northwestern University, Computer Science, a U.S. Air Force Veteran, and a member of the Electronics Signature Records Association, and National Title Solutions Forum.

Milan Bhatt

Milan heads the Healthcare and Insurance verticals at Hexaware. In this role, he is responsible for strategy, sales, solutions and service delivery for these verticals.

His career has focused on working with IT and Business leaders to envision and execute their transformation agenda and help them successfully transition from traditional outsourcing engagements to flexible and transparent co-sourcing partnerships.

Milan joined Hexaware in 2015 from Symphony Teleca, where he lead the Healthcare vertical and go to market for digital businesses. Before Symphony Milan spent over a decade in roles of increasing responsibility at HCL Technologies. In his last role at HCL, Milan was responsible for managing business development for Life Sciences sector in North America. Prior to that he established and grew HCL's presence in Canada with a focus on banking, insurance and healthcare.

Milan is an Electronics Engineering graduate and has an MBA from IMT Ghaziabad, India.

He is currently based out of our office in New Jersey, USA.

Paul Cole

As President, inQuba North America Paul is responsible for executing the companys’ ambitious growth strategy within the US market. He has overall accountability for all aspects of the business including; Sales & Marketing, Client engagement, Operations and Partner development.

Paul began his career in management consulting field, first with a long tenure at Mercer Management focused on market research and marketing strategy, next as a partner at Ernst & Young where he founded, scaled and led the global CRM practice, and then as a founding Managing Director of Infosys Consulting where we sought to blend business advisory services with customer technology enablement. Most recently, he ran a global business unit within Capgemini focused on business process outsourcing including Customer operations.

In addition to strong managerial leadership Paul has a track record of customer related innovations including; co‐authorship of a seminal book on the topic for Harvard Business School Press, Customer Connections: New Strategies for Growth, the creation of a first of its kind multichannel , multipartner center of excellence called the Centric group, and more recently, managed services offerings in the areas of social media management and customer analytics. He is also a past trustee of the Marketing Science Institute.

Jennifer Cooper-Matlack is the General Claims Business Process Administrator at NJM Insurance Group. Jennifer has been employed with NJM for over 10 years, and began her career with NJM as a Property Damage and Bodily Injury Adjuster before transitioning to the Business Process Team. Jennifer currently oversees the Quality Assurance Management department and sponsors the implementation of several Departmental technology projects. Jennifer holds a B.A. from Temple University in Psychology.

Timothy D. Crawley, Esq.

Timothy D. Crawley was born in El Dorado, Arkansas. Tim was admitted to the Bar of Mississippi, United States District Courts for the Northern and Southern Districts of Mississippi, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit in 1986, and was admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court in 1998. He completed his preparatory education at Duke University (A.B. Political Science; History, 1982) and his legal education at the University of Mississippi (J.D., 1985). While in law school, Mr. Crawley was a member of Phi Delta Phi (Exchequer, Summer 1985) and Moot Court Board (Chairman, Appellate Division, Summer, 1985). He received the American Jurisprudence Award in Antitrust.

Mr. Crawley's article entitled "Obamacare and Emerging Workers' Compensation Trends - National Reform, Legislation and Alternative Dispute Resolution" was published in the March 5, 2012 issue of Claims Magazine.

Previously, Mike was an associate with the Baach Robinson & Lewis law firm in Washington, D.C., which included a 6-month secondment to Equitas in London. He was also with AIG and Constitution Re in NYC.

Bert Dizon

Bert Dizon is the Claims Manager for Knight Insurance Group. Bert has over 12 years of industry experience from claims handling on both the carrier side and with TPAs as well as Operations and Compliance for a major Broker Agent in California. Bert currently oversees the service and new loss intake group as well as the PIP department and BI adjusters for Knight Insurance Group, in addition he manages some of the company's outside TPAs across the country, lastly, he also serves as the companies claims systems administrator for development and enhancements. Bert has a B.A. from Loyola Marymount University in Marketing and Management.

Kevin W. Doherty, Esq.

Mr. Doherty has acquired extensive experience in jury trial work and administrative claims in numerous forums throughout the Midwest. His practice encompasses a broad range of civil litigation and involves the handling of complex matters in both state and federal courts, as well as various administrative agencies.

Mr. Doherty has been published in the field of Illinois Civil Procedure, has lectured on complex litigation and trial practice and has attained a Martindale Hubbell® AV rating from his peers for each of the past 20 years. Mr. Doherty was recently accorded the honor of being named an Illinois Super Lawyer, a designation afforded to less than 5% of practicing lawyers in the State of Illinois. Matthew Dwyer, ACTAR

Matthew Dwyer received his under-graduate degree from the United States Naval Academy in 2006 with a Bachelors of Science. After 18 months of follow on Marine Corps Officer training he was stationed in North Carolina. He did one combat tour to Iraq as a Scout Sniper Platoon Commander and then was selected by the Marine Corps Special Operations Command. He was re-stationed in California and did one combat tour to Afghanistan.

Afterwards, he moved to Virginia was hired by Accident Technology. He furthered the in-depth collection methods learned in the Marines by studying Accident Reconstruction at The University of North Florida. Matt was officially ACTAR Certified as #2599 in September of 2012.

He currently is the Vice President of Accident Technology. In this role, he is responsible for the forensic analysis of all types of crashes, ranging from low impact studies to multiple fatalities. His work is primarily in the civil arena and he has taken part in everything from crash tests to legal consulting.

Peter Evans

Peter Evans is CEO of Pristine, an Austin, TX-based technology startup pioneering the future of the deskless worker. Prior to Pristine, Peter accumulated over 20 years of executive experience across telecom, SaaS/cloud, internet security, FinTech, and enterprise software. He has held high-level roles in F100 Companies, as well as numerous venture-backed startups, including several successful exits. As a public spokesperson, he has presented company strategies and industry insights on CNN, ABC World News, Fox News, and at industry events and financial analyst forums.

Todd Fannin

Todd Fannin is Director, Claims, Auto Insurance, LexisNexis® Risk Solutions. In this role, he is responsible for gathering market feedback from customers and prospects, then working with the LexisNexis product development team to create the solutions that help customers improve claims workflow processes and manage their bottom line. He joined LexisNexis in January 2012.

Previously, Fannin served as Director of both technology and the claims process at Esurance. He also served as Manager of the company’s claims process. He joined Esurance from Dent Wizard International, where he worked as Regional Insurance Manager.

Fannin earned his bachelor’s degree in accounting from Shorter College.

William C. Feemster, Esq.

Rocky Feemster has had a litigation practice with Touchstone, Bernays for the last 35 years. He has handled thousands of litigation matters (and tried approximately 200 Civil cases to verdict) in the State and Federal Courts throughout Texas. His practice has focused on the defense of personal injury, product liability, and First party insurance cases, including storm, fire and theft, and foundation issues, and well as the extra-contractual allegations that often follow such claims. He has particular expertise in oil-field related accidents and with those involving pneumatic tools. In addition, he has handled numerous Construction Defect matters throughout the state, and a substantial portion of his current practice is involved with such cases. He has been designated a Texas Super Lawyer each year since 2005, and has been named one of the Best Lawyers in Dallas by D Magazine in 2014 and 2016.

He resides in Coppell, Texas, and is married with 5 children. He is a sports enthusiast, and has coached youth baseball at various levels for 25 years. He currently serves as an Elder and Deacon at the Gracepoint Church in Coppell. All 5 of his children have pursued College educations, and thus he will never be able to retire!

David M. Governo has over 30 years of experience counseling and representing corporations, insurance companies and individuals. His focus has been on highly technical and scientifically or medically complicated matters that require a creative, yet practical problem-solving approach. Mr. Governo’s experience primarily has been in the areas of asbestos, lead, mold, insurance, indoor air quality, toxic torts, data privacy and products liability.

Mr. Governo has a national reputation as a leader in the fields of toxic torts, products liability and building-related regulatory compliance and litigation. In 1992, he organized and chaired the first national litigation conference on lead poisoning. Bill Haaland

Bill grew up in Red Wing, MN and is a graduate of Hamline University where he played both football and baseball while earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration. Bill’s phone sat silent during the Major League baseball draft and so he entered the property and casualty insurance industry immediately after college joining Citizens Security Group. At Citizens, Bill held a number of positions with a focus on sales and growth. In 1996 Citizens was sold to Meridian Insurance Group where Bill was selected as the Senior Executive Operations Officer with ultimate responsibility for the newly acquired Citizens Security Group.

In 1998, he joined BancInsure, Inc. as its President and Chief Executive Officer. BancInsure provided the nation’s community banks with fidelity bonds, director’s and officer’s liability insurance as well as various property and casualty lines of insurance. In 2006, under Bill’s leadership, the company’s reached its highest level of financial strength. During Bill’s eight year tenure with the company sales tripled and its capital grew 146%.

In early 2007, Bill left BancInsure to pursue endeavors less dependent on weather and more entrepreneurial in nature. Bill chose to join with Claims Management Resources (CMR) and leverage CMR’s 20 years of recovery work for utility and telecom companies and start a new subrogation company, Advanced Subrogation Resources (AnSR). Bill is the President of the combined companies.

Bill and his wife Nancy reside in Oklahoma City and travel often to see their grown children Becca and George.

Jim Hatch is the Vice President of Product Management & Engineering for Insurity and manages a portfolio of common applications, including policy, claims, reporting and billing administration systems as well as corporate technology infrastructure and new product development. He is also responsible for managing hosting and data center operations for hosted clients as well as help desk and infrastructure support for both hosted and deployed clients.

Jim joined Insurity (then a part of ChoicePoint) in 2003 with the acquisition of the claims administration software company he co-founded in 2000 after successfully growing the Pyramid Services claim software company from $2 million in annual revenue to $25 million as COO and CTO. Prior to Pyramid, Jim spent 12 years in the property and casualty insurance industry at Aetna Life & Casualty and Orion Capital Companies, where he was CIO of its workers compensation insurance subsidiary.

Scott Horwitz

Scott Horwitz has over 20 years experience in analytics and decision management at FICO. Scott has worked across the organization in delivery, product management, R&D and sales roles focused on FICO’s decision management capabilities. Evan B. Jones was admitted into the Kentucky Bar Association in 1998 and graduated from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 1997. He is an AV Preeminant Attorney through Martindale Hubbell and is currently a Partner at the law firm of Landrum & Shouse LLP. His practice primarily focuses on tort defense and civil litigation in their Lexington Office. Mr. Jones teaches in the Paralegal Studies department at EKU as an Adjunct Professor in addition to speaking and teaching for various seminars throughout the Bluegrass. Prior to becoming associated with Landrum & Shouse, Mr. Jones practiced with Coy, Gilbert & Gilbert in Richmond, Kentucky, and served as staff attorney to Madison and Clark County Circuit Judges Julia Hylton Adams and William T. Jennings.

Mr. Jones was adjunct faculty at Eastern Kentucky University for several years teaching Administrative Law in the Paralegal B.A program, and now speaks at Attorney CLE seminars on insurance topics covering auto and bad faith claims.

Mr. Jones is an active instrument-rated commercial pilot volunteering his time with the Civil Air Patrol for Search & Rescue and disaster relief missions. He is also a member of Lexington Lodge No. 1 and Richmond Lodge No. 25 of F. & A.M. (P.M. 2006).

Bob Keith began his automotive career by attending Southeast Community College in Milford Nebraska. After receiving an Associate degree in Diesel technology he spent seven years with Caterpillar as a truck engine performance specialist. In the late 70’s Bob had an opportunity to become partners with Greg Petersen in the collision industry and they formed Silver Hammer Body Co. They are still partners today after 37 years and own two CARSTAR franchises in Nebraska and two CARSTAR franchises in Kansas. Bob joined CARSTAR in company store operations in 1996 and took responsibility for the training and education department in 2009. In January of 2015 Bob’s role changed and he now oversees all training involving CARSTAR’s EDGE Performance Platform.

In his role, Brad manages the commercial insurance program, leads Land O’Lakes’ captive insurance company, and oversees first party claims. Land O’Lakes is a Fortune 200 company with an international footprint that specializes in dairy foods, animal feed and crop seed and protection products.

Prior to starting with Land O’Lakes, Brad led the insurance and claims teams at the retailer Target.

In the area of products liability, he has defended cases involving surgical implements, prosthetic implants, infusion pumps, insulin pumps, pelvic mesh, wheelchairs, textiles, aviation components, fire extinguishing equipment, farm implements, and numerous other products. He also has extensive experience in the defense of product liability claims against food manufacturers and distributors, both as individual claims and as mass torts. He frequently defends agricultural claims arising out of chemical contamination.

He has litigated cases in courts throughout Eastern and Middle Tennessee, as well as the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky at Lexington, and the Circuit Court for Bay County, Florida. Broderick has served as lead counsel in jury trials involving matters related to tort liability, insurance coverage, breach of contract, and personal injury. He has also tried numerous bench trials involving similar issues. In addition to his trial experience, he has represented clients in matters ranging from business torts, employment discrimination, estate litigation, and professional liability.

Broderick is AV rated by Martindale Hubbell in the areas of Civil Litigation, Defense Litigation and Tort Defense. He has been named a Master of the Bench of the Hamilton Burnett American Inn of Court, where he currently serves on its executive committee.

Broderick has recently been appointed to be a Hearing Committee Member by the Board of Professional Responsibility of the Supreme Court of Tennessee. He also serves on the Judicial Committee of the Knoxville Bar Association, and is a writer for the “Judicial News" column of the Knoxville Bar Association’s monthly journal.

Broderick is also active in the Knoxville community. He has served on the Board of the Moses Teen Center of the Knoxville Boys and Girls Club, and he has also served as President of the Knoxville Civitan Club.
